About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and dedicated Nursing Superintendent – Head to lead and oversee the entire nursing department at our esteemed multi-specialty hospital. This senior leadership role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of nursing care, patient safety, operational excellence, and staff development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical nursing operations, hospital administration, and team management.

As the Head of Nursing Services, you will be responsible for strategic planning, implementation of clinical protocols, monitoring of nursing activities, and ensuring adherence to quality standards as prescribed by national and international healthcare norms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Administration:
  Oversee and direct the entire nursing team, including Nursing Supervisors, Staff Nurses, and Support Personnel. Ensure seamless daily operations and address any administrative challenges that arise.
• Policy Development:
  Develop, review, and implement nursing policies and procedures in alignment with hospital objectives, nursing best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care by enforcing standards of clinical excellence, hygiene, and documentation. Participate in internal audits and quality assessments.
• Staff Training & Development:
  Identify training needs, plan induction and refresher training programs, and promote continuous professional development of nursing staff. Foster a culture of learning and skill enhancement.
• Recruitment & Manpower Planning:
  Collaborate with HR for recruiting qualified nursing professionals. Plan and manage workforce allocation based on departmental needs, patient load, and service demands.
• Patient Care & Safety:
  Monitor the implementation of care plans, medication administration protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.
• Interdepartmental Coordination:
  Work closely with medical, administrative, and support departments to ensure smooth coordination and resolution of any nursing-related issues.
• Crisis Management:
  Lead emergency response planning and execution, ensure preparedness during mass casualty situations or critical events within the hospital.
• Compliance & Licensing:
  Ensure all nursing operations are compliant with accreditation standards such as NABH/JCI and government regulatory requirements. Maintain all nursing licenses and certifications.
• Inventory & Supplies Management:
  Supervise the procurement and usage of nursing equipment, medical supplies, and PPE. Ensure effective stock control and minimize wastage.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Education:
  B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution. Additional certifications in Hospital Administration or Healthcare Management will be an added advantage.
• Experience:
  Minimum of 10 years of clinical and administrative nursing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity in a large hospital setup.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
• Well-versed with accreditation standards, documentation, and quality metrics
