Operational Excellence Manager

The Operational Excellence Manager will partner with the Australia Mining business to drive operational excellence across project delivery, business processes, governance systems, and performance management frameworks. The role is responsible for enabling consistent, efficient, and scalable delivery by continuously improving the tools, processes, data insights, and ways of working that support business growth.

This position serves as a key catalyst for transformation, balancing governance and standardization with agility and innovation to enhance productivity, strengthen project outcomes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the Mining business.

The role provides strategic ownership of the operational framework that underpins project delivery excellence, ensuring that business systems, governance, performance measures, and capability development evolve in line with the organization's growth ambitions and future operating model.

The individual would be responsible to:

• Work with the Australia Mining Operations team, including the National and Operations Executives.

• Build and support development, optimization, and governance of operational tools, systems, and performance frameworks that improve project predictability, commercial outcomes, and delivery efficiency.

• Establish and continuously enhance operational standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks to improve consistency, quality, and scalability across the Mining business.

• Build organizational capability through structured learning programs, targeted training initiatives, and effective change adoption strategies.

• Provide hands on support to delivery teams and the initiatives developed through the National and Operational Executives.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to identify improvement opportunities, streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and support operational maturity.

• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and governance of delivery standards.

• Champion digitalization, automation, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve operational effectiveness. 

• Monitor operational health through analytics, audits, and business reviews, identifying trends and proactively addressing systemic risks. 

• Partner with leadership to shape the future operating model and drive operational excellence maturity across the Mining business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Science, or allied disciplines)
• MBA/ PGDM will be an added advantage

Experience

At least 14 -15 years of experience in the relevant domain.
