Job Description - Operational Performance Manager

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for driving operational performance across Professional Services. You will lead a team focused on data-driven performance management, operational conformance, and risk & control. Your remit includes ensuring robust governance, monitoring compliance with operational and performance thresholds, reporting on key metrics, identifying opportunities to optimize processes, and enabling the business to achieve its strategic and operational goals through actionable insights and effective controls.

Key Responsibilities

    • Operational Performance & Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 specialists to monitor, report and drive high-quality operational outcomes.
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational performance frameworks, KPIs, and dashboards.
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align operational performance initiatives with business strategy.

    • Data-Driven Insights & Performance Management
    • Oversee the development and delivery of Power BI dashboards and analytics to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
    • Partner with business leaders to define and track KPIs, success metrics, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Use data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
    • Present performance reports and recommendations to senior management.

    • Risk, Control & Conformance
    • Oversee the development and implementation of risk management and control frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks; ensure robust controls are in place and regularly reviewed.
    • Champion a culture of compliance, ethical conduct, and proactive risk management.
    • Ensure regular audits, reviews, and reporting of conformance activities; address findings and drive corrective actions.
    • Liaise with internal audit, compliance, and other assurance functions as required.

Skills & Experience

    • Essential:
    • 15+ years’ experience in a BPO or captive operational process environment with some experience in managing or driving performance management as well as risk & control.
    • Track record of influencing teams (not necessarily direct reports) to deliver operational and control excellence.
    • Experience in risk management, control frameworks, and compliance.
    • Experience with data analytics, dashboarding, and performance reporting.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.

    • Desirable:
    • Experience in automotive, technology, or professional services sectors.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO, SOX).
    • Certifications in risk management, compliance, or project management.
    • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
