Job Description - Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place to support the business objectives. This role involves strategic planning, management of operational budgets, implementation of best practices, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
  2. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  3. Identify areas for process improvement and drive initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  4. Project Management
  5. Lead a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to client specifications
  6. Manage and oversee end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of medium business complexity (involving multiple systems interfaces that are highly visible to the organization)
  7. Monitor project results for significant deviations and follow escalate protocols
  8. Contribute to client relations to ensure that service expectations are developed and met
  9. Connect with clients and coordinate and report on project progress and accomplishments
  10. Work with all required Information Technology functions and groups to effectively plan and execute the project
  11. Coordinate between clients and internal technical as well as Ops groups to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification
  12. Manage communication with the business at a detailed functional level and discuss/resolve issues
  13. Manage client expectations and ensures project delivery in conformance with company software development life cycle methodologies
  14. Client Management
  15. Manage client relationships and foster collaboration by conducting regular check-ins and governances to understand client requirements and expectations
  16. Tailor services and solutions to meet client needs
  17. Maintain transparent, consistent, and open communication channels.
  18. Provide timely updates on project progress, changes, or issues
  19. Monitor and analyse client satisfaction metrics and key performance indicators
  20. Use data to continuously refine client management strategies
  21. Provide clients with insights, expertise, and additional services that add value to their business
  22. Stay ahead of industry trends to offer proactive solutions
  23. Team Leadership and Development:
  24. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  25. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the operations team.
  26. Process and Performance Management:
  27. Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met.
  28. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality control processes.
  29. Implement quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of product and service delivery.
  30. Risk Management:
  31. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational disruptions.
  32. Technology and Innovation:
  33. Leverage technology to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  34. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  2. PMP, PRINCE 2 or similar project management certification preferred
  3. 15+ years of experience in operations management in a Bank, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  4. Experience in Reference Data/Enterprise Data Management is mandatory
  5. Proven track record of leading successful projects and operational initiatives is a MUST
  6. Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools
  7. Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets
  8. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  9. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
