Job Description - Opthalmologist

Posting Title: Opthalmologist

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical history collection, visual acuity testing, and slit -lamp examinations.
Operate and interpret results from advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tools, including A -Scan, AR imaging, NCT, and related equipment.
Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and retinal diseases.
Perform cataract surgeries using Phacoemulsification techniques with precision, adherence to clinical protocols, and a focus on optimal outcomes.
Maintain accurate, up -to -date, and compliant medical records in line with hospital and regulatory standards.
Deliver pre - and post -operative care, including patient education, medication prescription, and follow -up monitoring.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
Manage an average caseload of 6–8 outpatient consultations daily and 10–12 cataract surgeries monthly.
Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education, clinical audits, and staying current with advancements in ophthalmology.

Requirements:

MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS in Ophthalmology).
Valid medical license and registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or equivalent regulatory body.
Practical experience with A -Scan, AR imaging, Phacoemulsification, and NCT devices.
Proven ability to perform cataract surgeries with attention to safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence.
Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic accuracy in managing diverse eye conditions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
Adaptability to a fast -paced clinical environment with defined daily and monthly case targets.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital documentation platforms.
Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and lifelong learning in ophthalmic care.
