Job Description - Opthalmologist

Posting Title: Opthalmologist
Industry: Hospital
Salary: ₹2LPM to 2.5LPM
Work Experience: 0 -1 year

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical history collection, visual acuity testing, and slit -lamp examinations.
  • Operate and interpret results from advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tools, including A -Scan, AR imaging, NCT, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and retinal diseases.
  • Perform cataract surgeries using Phacoemulsification techniques with precision, adherence to clinical protocols, and a focus on optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, up -to -date, and compliant medical records in line with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver pre - and post -operative care, including patient education, medication prescription, and follow -up monitoring.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Manage an average caseload of 6–8 outpatient consultations daily and 10–12 cataract surgeries monthly.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education, clinical audits, and staying current with advancements in ophthalmology.
Requirements:
  • MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS in Ophthalmology).
  • Valid medical license and registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or equivalent regulatory body.
  • Practical experience with A -Scan, AR imaging, Phacoemulsification, and NCT devices.
  • Proven ability to perform cataract surgeries with attention to safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic accuracy in managing diverse eye conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Adaptability to a fast -paced clinical environment with defined daily and monthly case targets.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital documentation platforms.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and lifelong learning in ophthalmic care.
