Job Description - Optical and Communication - Sales

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Execution

  • Drive sales and achieve ambitious annual revenue targets for the Optical and Communication product lines across assigned territories.
  • Map and penetrate key target segments, including telecommunications service providers, network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), R&D institutions, defence, aerospace, and academic labs.
  • Manage the complete sales lifecycle, from lead generation and technical qualification to commercial negotiation and order closure.

Technical Consultation & Solution Selling

  • Act as a technical expert to understand complex customer requirements and recommend precise testing solutions leveraging our OSA and OTDR portfolios.
  • Conduct high-quality technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) evaluations for clients.
  • Bridge the gap between customer technical needs and our product capabilities, offering unparalleled application support during the pre-sales phase.

Account Management & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, CXOs, procurement heads, and lab managers.
  • Track market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies in optical networking (e.g., high-speed transmission, silicon photonics, fiber optic sensing).
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline analysis, and market feedback to the senior leadership team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the inside sales, application support, and service teams to ensure flawless post-sales support and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist marketing teams by participating in industrial exhibitions, technical seminars, and webinars to boost brand visibility.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • B.E. / B.Tech: In Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Instrumentation, or a closely related technical field. An MBA in Marketing/International Business is a plus but not mandatory.

Experience & Core Competencies

  • 5 to 10 years of proven track record in B2B sales/business development within the Test & Measurement (T&M) or telecom industry.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of fiber optics, optical transmission systems, and hands-on familiarity with instruments like Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSA) and OTDRs.
  • Market Network: Existing relationships with key R&D labs, telecom players, and manufacturing hubs in India is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to explain intricate technical features in a clear, value-driven manner.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the region to meet clients and support field operations.
