We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with around 5 years of hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, and supporting Oracle databases in production environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in database performance tuning, backup & recovery, and high availability solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c)
- Administer Oracle Multitenant environments (Creation, cloning, plugging/unplugging of PDBs, Managing CDB and PDB lifecycle, patching, and upgrades)
- Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Manage backup and recovery using RMAN
- Implement and support High Availability & DR solutions (RAC, Data Guard)
- Handle database patching, PSU/CPU updates, and version upgrades
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide 24x7 production support
- Monitor and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans
Query optimisation:
- Manage database security: users, roles, privileges, auditingPerform routine DBA activities: space management, tablespace managementWork closely with application, infrastructure, and support teamsPrepare and maintain DB documentation and SOPsParticipate in on-call support and incident management
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB) architecture
- Expertise in Oracle 11g/12c/19c or higher
- Hands-on experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and RAC
- Strong SQL & PL/SQL knowledge
- Experience in Linux/Unix environments
- Experience in monitoring of OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)
- Experience with database migration and refresh activities(Migration from on-premises to AWS EC2 Instance)
Good to Have (Preferred Skills):
- Experience with Cloud databases (AWS EC2 and RDS Oracle)
- Exposure to PostgreSQL / MySQL is a plus
- Automation using Shell scripting
- Oracle certifications (OCA / OCP)
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Willingness to work in shifts / on-call support
