Position title: Database Administrator
Hours of operation:1 shift: 6am to 2pm:2 shift:12am to 8pm
He/She will be a production/development oriented Database Administrator that would thrive working closely with other Database Administrators locally and US counterpart team supporting a multi-database environment including Oracle, SQL server and in memory databases like memsql.
You will have the opportunity to work with our Senior DBAs playing a key role in supporting supply chain of data from data generation to data delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Understand and apply advanced database administration, management and performance tuning techniques
· Provide advanced technical troubleshooting for applications and database systems
· Configure and tune oracle and Linux OS parameters to ensure optimum performance and resource utilization
· You may be required to work in morning or afternoon shift and one weekend daily
· Understand server clustering techniques and its impact on database configuration and performance
· Manage standby databases, snapshots and other advanced database features
· Use databases replication tools like Goldengate etc.
· Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments and be able to perform troubleshooting with RAC nodes
· Participate in design and review of application codes
· Develop shell scripts for monitoring
· Develop procedures and processes for data migration and application development
· Participate in meetings and conference calls related to project and troubleshooting activities
· Perform exports, rman backups and data extracts as required
· Develop strong working knowledge of key applications and their interaction with the database(s)
Skills and experience
· Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science or related discipline preferred
· Must have 5+ of database administration experience with Oracle cluster environment
· Must have performed Oracle version upgrades and migrations
· Experience with Oracle11g/12c RAC Enterprise installation and its troubleshooting
· Database analysis and design expertise through code review, AWR and ASH reports.
· Experience with Oracle tools and utilities like Toad, PL/SQL developer
· Tuning of SQL statements and PL/SQL code
Skills and attributes that would be great to have
· Comfortable with highly dynamic customer driven environment
· Ability to write, debug and tune sql and pl/sql, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
· Experience with database monitoring and tuning tools such as OEM
· Solid experience with the linux operating system and command set
· Thorough knowledge of physical and logical disk systems and their impact on database performance.
· Understanding of storage experience a plus. High degree of skill with database commands and utilities such as exp, imp, sql loader, etc.
· Advanced knowledge of database administration tasks such as hot and cold backups, database recovery, tablespace additions, security, etc.
· Advanced installation and configuration experience.
· Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently and in shift with US counterpart team
· Capable of working and managing multiple diverse

He/She should also provide support as SQL Server Administrator working closely with other Database Administrators locally and in the US supporting a multi-database environment including Oracle, SQL server and in memory databases like memsql. He/She will be responsible for the maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications.
