## Job Title - Senior Oracle DBA with GoldenGate\n\n## Job Summary\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join the Database Engineering team within the Enterprise Technology Organization. This role supports a highly available, global life sciences environment and requires deep, hands-on expertise in Oracle database technologies, Exadata platforms, and Oracle GoldenGate replication, along with experience integrating Oracle workloads with AWS cloud services.\n\nThe ideal candidate will be a senior-level DBA who can contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time, collaborate effectively with architects and peer DBAs, and support mission-critical enterprise database platforms.\n\n* * *\n\n## Key Responsibilities\n\n * Provide day-to-day operational support for enterprise Oracle database platforms in a shared services environment\n\n * Perform hands-on administration, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Oracle Exadata and ZFS infrastructure\n\n * Design, implement, support, and optimize Oracle GoldenGate replication across Oracle Database, AWS S3, and Amazon Aurora\n\n * Manage and tune Oracle RAC environments to ensure high availability and performance\n\n * Perform advanced Oracle performance tuning, diagnostics, and optimization using Oracle internals\n\n * Support Oracle database upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management\n\n * Participate in cloud migration initiatives, including Oracle workloads migrating to AWS\n\n * Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate database operations and monitoring\n\n * Collaborate closely with senior DBAs, architects, and cross-functional teams to support enterprise initiatives\n\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## Required Qualifications\n\n * 8+ years of experience administering Oracle databases in large-scale enterprise environments\n\n * 8+ years of experience with shell scripting for automation and operational support\n\n * 8+ years of experience supporting Oracle Exadata and ZFS infrastructure\n\n * 8+ years of experience working with Oracle RAC environments\n\n * 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and tuning Oracle GoldenGate across:\n\n * Oracle Database\n\n * AWS S3\n\n * Amazon Aurora\n\n * 5+ years of experience with Exadata Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC)\n\n * 5+ years of experience with Oracle database partitioning and automation\n\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## Preferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience with AWS technologies, including RDS and Aurora\n\n * Experience working with Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)\n\n * Experience supporting GoldenGate replication with SQL Server targets\n\n * Experience implementing GoldenGate replication from PostgreSQL and MySQL source systems\n\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## Work Allocation (Approximate)\n\n * 40% \u2013 Hands-on Exadata administration and GoldenGate replication setup and tuning\n\n * 40% \u2013 Oracle internals, performance tuning, and optimization\n\n * 20% \u2013 Oracle database upgrades and AWS cloud migrations\n\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## Additional Information\n\n * This role supports a global enterprise environment and requires strong communication and collaboration skills\n\n * Candidates must be able to work independently and contribute immediately in a senior DBA capacity\n\n\n\n
