This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Oracle GoldenGate & Platform Administrator based in India.
This role is focused on managing and supporting enterprise-grade data replication platforms that enable reliable, real-time data movement across critical systems. You will be responsible for administering Oracle GoldenGate and OCI GoldenGate environments, ensuring the stability, performance, and continuity of Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines. The position requires strong hands-on experience in monitoring and troubleshooting replication processes in production environments, with a focus on resolving latency, failures, and data synchronization issues. You will also support HVR replication platforms and collaborate closely with data engineering and vendor teams to optimize data flows and system performance. In addition, you will play a key role in root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures to improve platform reliability. This is a mission-critical infrastructure role within a complex, data-driven environment requiring precision, responsiveness, and strong technical depth.
Accountabilities:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle GoldenGate and OCI GoldenGate environments, ensuring stable and efficient data replication across systems.
- Manage Extracts, Replicats, trails, checkpoints, and deployment configurations to ensure continuous Change Data Capture (CDC) operations.
- Monitor replication health, performance metrics, and system availability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents including replication lag, process abends, missing data, and synchronization failures.
- Support HVR replication environments, including job monitoring, refresh processes, metadata adjustments, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to support data ingestion pipelines and ensure reliable CDC-based data movement.
- Coordinate with Oracle, Fivetran, and other vendors for escalation management, issue resolution, and platform optimization.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions to reduce recurring production issues.
- Maintain operational documentation, monitoring dashboards, and support runbooks for platform stability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during critical incidents or planned deployments when required.
Requirements:
- 6–7 years of experience in data replication platform administration and production support.
- Strong hands-on expertise in OCI GoldenGate and Oracle GoldenGate environments.
- Experience with HVR replication platforms and CDC-based data movement architectures.
- Solid understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) concepts and Oracle data replication frameworks.
- Strong experience managing and troubleshooting Extracts, Replicats, trails, and checkpoint mechanisms.
- Good working knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and database performance fundamentals.
- Strong production troubleshooting and incident resolution skills in high-availability environments.
- Ability to work in on-call rotations and handle critical production issues under pressure.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams and external vendors.
