Job Description - Payroll Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the organization’s payroll operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely salary processing, compliance with statutory requirements, and handle payroll audits. This role requires strong expertise in payroll systems, labor laws, employee taxation, and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees on a monthly/weekly cycle.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages Act, and other labor laws.

  • Administer employee benefits, salary structures, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams for accurate payroll inputs.

  • Review and validate attendance, leave records, overtime, and shift allowances.

  • Manage payroll systems and ensure timely updates for any changes in legislation.

  • Handle payroll audits, statutory inspections, and ensure timely filing of returns.

  • Prepare payroll MIS, reports, and dashboards for management review.

  • Address employee queries related to salary, deductions, tax, and benefits.

  • Implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations.



Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, HR, or related field.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in payroll management.

  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory compliances, and taxation.

  • Proficiency in payroll software (SAP, Oracle, ADP, GreytHR, etc.) and MS Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy under pressure.

Preferred Certifications

  • Payroll Management Certification (NIPM / SHRM / Certified Payroll Professional).

  • MBA in HR/Finance or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
