Job Description - PES Project Scheduling Leader

Job Description Summary

This role will report directly to PES Global Operations Leader and be accountable for project schedule development and delivery for all PES complex projects across ITO & OTR. Additionally, the role will own the standard for project scheduling and work closely with functional owners to improve & optimize schedule development.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Own the delivery of project schedule across ITO and OTR for all PES complex projects through scheduling team.

  • Accountable for on time delivery of project schedules both internally and to customers.

  • Accountable for accuracy of project schedule implementation as well as work packages and constraints integration into project planning scenario across PES portfolio.

  • Accountable for resource allocation, capacity planning, and workload optimization for the project planning team through understanding of market trends and long range forecast.

  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop project planners (internal and external resources) facing customers to ensure optimal performance and professional growth. Drives initiatives to free up project scheduler and stakehodlers time through sustainable productivity.

  • Point of contact for all project schedule escalations & resolution.

  • Own and continuously enhance project scheduling processes including underwriting, tools, and standards to drive operational excellence; maximize efficiency, quality, and internal/external customer satisfaction. Strong understanding of total project cycle processes & deliverables.

  • Understands best industry practices withing GEV (HDNU, CSS) or external JV partner, customer or suppliers.

  • Understands PES KPIs and can connect the dots to enable delivery of the same through process improvement and actions across stakeholders. In a highly matrix environment across regions and functions, this role needs to ensure our process and tools are constantly aligned to our KPIs and delivery the best business outcome

  • Influences cycle time & fulfillment strategy across project lifecycle, works with functional leaders to adjust processes to optimize schedule delivery.

  • Exercises large sphere of influence across project functions & project lifecycle.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline & project lifecycle. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Responsible communication to customers is done on timely manner & contract requirements are met.

  • Prepare and present status reports, dashboards, and forecasts for executive and stakeholder review.

  • Drives the culture of one team with PES regions, ensures project schedulers are fully integrated as a part of the project team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 10 years of experience and proficiency in Project Scheduling

  • Deep knowledge and breadth of expertise on scheduling discipline, this role requires strong knowledge with the full Upgrade projects lifecycle: from Commercial to Engineering to Parts & Field Services fulfilment.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing project planners, or similar roles

  • Strong proficiency in project management tools and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Service Business Unit experience (field service, supply chain, engineering, repairs, customer service, etc.)

  • Established project management skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team,to define project requirements, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies

  • Demonstrated success in change management and organizational transformation across a global matrixed organization

  • Self-motivated and possess demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve results

  • PMP®, PMI-SP®, or other relevant certifications are a plus
