Physician Billing - Medical Billing AR Representative

Job Summary

The Medical Billing AR Representative is responsible for managing and resolving outstanding insurance and patient accounts receivable. The role involves analyzing unpaid claims, communicating with insurance companies, appealing denied claims, identifying payment discrepancies, and ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up with insurance carriers via phone, payer portals, and correspondence regarding claim status.


• Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and payment delays.


• Submit corrected claims and appeals with supporting documentation.


• Verify claim processing accuracy based on payer guidelines and contracts.


• Post follow-up notes and maintain accurate account documentation.


• Identify root causes of denials and recommend corrective actions.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).


• Understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.


• Experience with denial management and appeals.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Proficiency in MS Excel and billing software. EPIC will be an added advantage


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)


• 1-3+ years of experience in Medical Billing AR Follow-up.


• Experience with physician billing.
