The Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the full lifecycle of operations at the tyre retreading facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production of high-quality retreaded tyres.
This position is critical to maintaining operational excellence by driving productivity, upholding strict quality standards, and achieving key performance targets.
The Plant Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize resource utilization, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output, reduce waste, and ensure timely delivery. With a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and process optimization, this role ensures the facility operates at peak efficiency while supporting broader business goals. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader who fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational discipline.
Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for pre-cure and mould cure tyre retreading processes.
Optimize the utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Track and analyze key production KPIs including output volume, cycle time, rejection rates, and equipment downtime.
Coordinate closely with sales and logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch of finished tyres and meet delivery commitments.
Enforce strict adherence to retreading process standards across all stages: buffing, skiving, building, curing, and finishing.
Monitor quality parameters and implement corrective actions to reduce defects such as bond failure, delamination, and dimensional inaccuracies.
Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Lead and develop operational teams through training, performance reviews, and continuous improvement programs.
Drive initiatives for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost-saving opportunities across the plant.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
a) B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Rubber Technology or related field.
b) MBA (Operations) will be an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
Functional: 22- 25 years of experience in tyre retreading / rubber manufacturing.
