We are seeking an experienced Plant HR & Employee Relations Manager to lead end-to-end human resource operations at a manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational continuity, workforce stability, statutory compliance, and a disciplined yet positive shop-floor culture.
As the on-site HR leader, you will serve as the key bridge between plant management, employees, contractors, unions (where applicable), and regulatory authorities—ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while proactively mitigating workforce risks.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations & Workforce Stability
Foster a stable and collaborative work environment between management and shop-floor employees.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary proceedings, domestic inquiries, and conflict resolution processes.
Lead wage discussions, settlements, productivity-linked negotiations, and workforce restructuring initiatives where required.
Engage with labor unions and worker representatives to maintain operational harmony.
Liaise with local authorities and labor departments to safeguard uninterrupted plant operations.
Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Governance
Ensure full compliance with labor laws, factory regulations, social security provisions, contract labor regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Manage statutory filings, audits, inspections, and maintenance of mandatory registers and documentation.
Act as the primary liaison for factory inspectors, labor officers, and other regulatory agencies.
Ensure contractor workforce compliance with statutory, safety, and documentation requirements.
Workforce Planning & Lifecycle Management
Oversee hiring for plant roles, including permanent employees, trainees, and contract labor.
Drive structured onboarding, shop-floor induction, and workforce integration processes.
Supervise time office operations—attendance, shifts, overtime, leave records, and workforce deployment.
Manage exit processes, final settlements, and documentation in alignment with compliance standards.
Plant Administration & Employee Engagement
Lead plant administration functions including canteen, security, transport, housekeeping, and facilities management.
Collaborate with EHS teams to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and statutory requirements.
Implement employee welfare initiatives, health camps, engagement programs, and morale-building activities.
Monitor workforce sentiment and proactively address potential issues before escalation.
Capability Development & Performance Support
Identify skill gaps and coordinate technical, safety, and compliance training programs.
Facilitate statutory training and skill enhancement initiatives for plant employees.
Support performance management processes in partnership with plant leadership.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
Strong experience managing HR and employee relations within a manufacturing or plant environment.
Proven exposure to industrial relations, labor negotiations, and statutory compliance.
Hands-on experience managing contract labor and shop-floor workforce dynamics.
Experience interacting with unions, labor authorities, and regulatory bodies.
