Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer

This position
involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering
Team at Axium Global's Delivery Centre in Andheri,
Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals,
including mechanical, electrical and plumbing and fire protection engineers
with varied experience. The plumbing and
firefighting engineer will be responsible for the overall
design of plumbing and firefighting systems and deliverables,
working directly with leading MEP design consulting firms from
the UK, USA, Australia and the UAE on flagship
projects.

Design and Documentation:

• Overall design of
  plumbing & fire protection systems and deliverables,
  including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design
  Development, Tender Design/Documentation (including
  technical specifications, BOQ, schedules and
  drawings)
  
• Ensure designs
  comply with current legislation and codes of
  practice
  

Client Interaction:

• Regular
  communication with the client and taking on design
  responsibilities in commercial, residential ,
  retail, laboratory and hospital
  projects
  
• Understand and
  apply codes and standards local to project
  locations, utilizing the latest industry -leading
  software
  

Leadership and Mentorship:

• Take on a
  leadership role with the potential for team growth,
  with team members
  

Professional Development:

• Independently
  communicate with clients, stakeholders, leaders and peers in
  written and spoken English
  
• Train and work on
  the latest plumbing and firefighting design
  software
  
• Undertake offshore
  visits to clients’ offices, if required, for detailed training

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech
  degree in mechanical or civil engineering or a related
  technical field
  
• Experience in
  design of water supply, sewerage and drainage system
  including necessary calculations; design of
  comprehensive underground sewerage and storm water
  systems; sizing and selecting locations for STP
  & water tanks
  
• Detailed drawing
  layout for internal & external water and drainage
  systems
  
• Experience in fire
  protection systems, design of sprinklers, external &
  internal hydrant system, fire pump & tank systems design,
  hydraulic calculations
  
• Experience working
  on AutoCAD & BlueBeam for preparing design
  layouts
  
• Good communication
  skills and the ability to interact with clients
  regularly
  
• Consistently
  produce accurate work without
  errors
  
• Experience working
  with reputable global MEP engineering
  companies
  
• Experience working
  on UK/Australia/Middle East
  projects.
