Job Description - PMT gastro /acute - sales & marketing

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 4000000 - Rs 8000000 (ie INR 40 - 80 LPA)

Min Experience: 10 years

Location: Mumbai

JobType: full-time

Lead and oversee the overall business performance of the Gastro / Acute (Oxalis Division) by steering sales strategies, enhancing field force efficiency, fostering brand development, and expanding market presence, while ensuring the accomplishment of revenue and profitability objectives.

📊 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Business & Sales Leadership

  • Drive division-wise sales to meet revenue targets of approximately ₹250 Cr
  • Formulate and implement annual business plans, sales strategies, and forecasts
  • Analyze region-wise performance and take necessary corrective steps
  • Maintain steady growth across key therapy areas (Gastro & Acute)

🔹 Team Management

  • Lead a field force comprising around 519 employees
  • Develop strong second-line leaders (RSMs/ABMs)
  • Promote productivity, discipline, and a high-performance culture
  • Conduct regular reviews, training sessions, and skill development initiatives

🔹 Brand Management

  • Manage and grow key brands including:
  • Rebagen
  • Zedocef
  • Nazomac
  • Esofine
  • Urdohep
  • Collaborate with the marketing team for brand positioning and campaign execution
  • Monitor prescription trends and competitor activities

🔹 Strategic Planning

  • Identify new market opportunities and avenues for expansion
  • Enhance doctor coverage and institutional business outreach
  • Devise strategies to boost market penetration and increase market share

🔹 Operational Excellence

  • Ensure efficient use of SFE (Sales Force Effectiveness) and CRM tools
  • Optimize territory alignment and allocate resources effectively
  • Maintain high standards of reporting, compliance, and governance

🔹 Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with:
  • Marketing team
  • Supply chain
  • HR & Training Departments
  • Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and leading prescribers

🔹 Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor KPIs such as:
  • Sales versus Target
  • Productivity per representative
  • Return on Investment (ROI) on campaigns
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews

🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Pharmacy (MBA preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing

💼 Experience

  • 15–20+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership role at Zonal or National level
  • Experience in the Gastro / Acute segment is preferred
