Overview
The Power Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development,
simulation, testing, and validation of power electronic systems and subsystems for specialized
applications. The role involves working on power conversion products including inverters,
converters, battery chargers, AC power supplies, and DC power supplies, ensuring compliance
with performance, reliability, and safety standards.
Candidates with experience in Aerospace, Defence, Aviation, Industrial Electronics, or
other high -reliability power electronics applications will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
â Design, develop, simulate, and optimize power electronic circuits including:
â Inverters
â DC -DC Converters
â AC -DC Converters
â Battery Chargers
â AC Power Supplies
â DC Power Supplies
â Utilize simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, and
other relevant platforms for circuit analysis and verification.
â Build prototypes and perform hands -on debugging, troubleshooting, and validation
activities.
â Conduct thermal analysis, efficiency testing, and EMI/EMC testing to ensure product
performance and compliance.
â Collaborate with PCB layout engineers or directly support PCB layout design, focusing
on:
â High -current and high -voltage routing
â Thermal management
â Minimization of parasitic effects
â Design optimization for manufacturability and reliability
â Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards and safety
requirements, including IEC and UL standards.
â Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including:
â Technical Specifications
â Qualification Test Procedures (QTP)
â Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
â Reliability Calculations
â Derating Analysis
â FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis)
â Design Reports
â Schematics
â Bill of Materials (BOMs)
â Perform troubleshooting and testing of prototypes to identify and resolve design -related
issues.
â Select appropriate power electronic components considering electrical, thermal,
reliability, and application -specific requirements.
â Participate in design reviews and support product development activities throughout the
entire product lifecycle.
