Job Description - PR & Communications Associate

Catalyx Space is looking for a PR & Communications Associate to help shape how the company is seen across media, industry, customers, investors, talent, and the broader ecosystem. This role goes beyond writing. We’re looking for someone who can build relationships, drive outreach, shape narratives, and execute events and PR campaigns end -to -end.

You will be directly reporting to the CMO and will work closely with leadership on company visibility, communications, and external narrative.


Key Responsibilities:


Media Relations & Ecosystem Outreach
  1. Build and manage relationships with journalists, podcast hosts, creators, conference organizers, ecosystem partners, and communications teams at partner companies and startups
  2. Develop and execute PR outreach strategies to increase Catalyx’s visibility across media, podcasts, industry platforms, and events
  3. Lead press engagement end -to -end, including media pitching, outreach, follow -ups, interview coordination, and identifying relevant coverage or speaking opportunities
  4. Prepare and manage communications assets, including press releases, media notes, founder quotes, briefing documents, and PR tracking such as media coverage and outreach pipelines​

Company Narrative
  1. Help shape Catalyx’s company narrative and external messaging
  2. Translate complex technical progress into clear, compelling stories
  3. Ensure consistency of messaging across press, events, social media, and company communications

Leadership Communications
  1. Support leadership visibility through interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, and public appearances
  2. Prepare founders and leadership with briefing notes, talking points, and messaging support
  3. Work closely with the CMO and support them in managing and scheduling calls, meetings, and key communication -related coordination

Technical Storytelling & Content
  1. Write and support technical blogs, explainers, thought leadership articles, and founder bylines
  2. Prepare award submissions and speaking applications
  3. Support social -first storytelling and short -form content around company milestones

PR Campaigns & Announcements
  1. Plan and execute PR campaigns around launches, milestones, partnerships, tests, events, and major announcements
  2. Coordinate messaging across press, social media, and leadership communications
  3. Turn company progress into stories that generate visibility and credibility

Events & Conferences
  1. Support event communications, conference messaging, booth narratives, and collateral
  2. Assist with coordination of media interactions and announcements at industry events

Reputation & Reactive Communications
  1. Support sensitive or reactive communications when needed
  2. Assist with messaging during delays, issues, or critical announcements


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1–4 years of experience in PR, communications, journalism, media, content, or a related field
  • Strong writing, communication, and storytelling skills
  • Strong outreach, follow -up, and relationship -building ability
  • High ownership and strong execution skills
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and deliver outcomes
  • Good instinct for what makes a story interesting, newsworthy, and worth pushing
  • Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leadership
  • Ability to understand technical or deep -tech topics quickly and communicate them clearly
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities


Nice to Have (Preferred):

  • Background in journalism, media, communications, or PR
  • Interest in space, science, deep -tech, or frontier technology
  • Experience working with startups, agencies, or founder -led brands
  • Existing journalist or media relationships are a plus
  • STEM or science familiarity is helpful but not required


Ideal Candidate Traits:

Someone who is part storyteller, part relationship builder, and part campaign executor — able to take a company milestone and turn it into meaningful visibility, media coverage, and opportunities.
