Role Objective
The Pricing & Tender Specialist will manage end-to-end logistics tenders and RFQs covering ocean, air, road, rail, and multimodal services. The role ensures commercially competitive, operationally feasible, and contract-compliant pricing for customers across domestic and international trade lanes.
Key Responsibilities
Tender & RFQ Management
Handle customer RFQs, annual tenders, mini-bids, and spot quotations for logistics services.
Coordinate with origin, destination, and overseas agents/carriers for rate procurement.
Prepare end-to-end logistics pricing including freight, origin/destination charges, inland haulage, and value-added services.
Ensure timelines and tender submission formats are strictly met.
Pricing & Commercial Analysis
Analyse cost structures and margins for ocean freight (FCL/LCL/breakbulk), road transport, and multimodal.
Benchmark rates against market trends and historical data.
Highlight commercial risks, low-margin lanes, and loss-making scenarios.
Support Sales with pricing strategies and deal structuring.
Compliance & Risk
Ensure quotations and tenders comply with Incoterms, trade regulations, internal SOPs, and customer contracts.
Validate surcharges, free time, detention/demurrage terms, and accessorial charges.
Flag operational constraints or compliance risks before tender submission.
Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with Sales, Key Account Managers, Operations, Finance, and Overseas Offices.
Act as a single point of contact for pricing clarifications during tender cycles.
Support contract handover from Sales to Operations post-award.
Data & Reporting
Maintain tender trackers, win/loss analysis, and pricing databases.
Prepare management reports on tender performance, margins, and market trends.
Support rate validity management and periodic rate updates.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of logistics pricing and cost structures
Knowledge of Incoterms, freight terms, and international trade lanes
Advanced skills in Excel / pricing tools / RFQ portals
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines
Strong communication and coordination skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Tender win ratio
Pricing accuracy and margin adherence
Timely submission of tenders
