Principal, Cloud Strategy, Platform & FinOps

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Principal – Cloud Strategy, Platform & FinOps leads the strategic, architectural, operational, and financial governance of Cloud transformation across the Mahindra Group. This role drives the Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CoE), multi-cloud adoption, FinOps maturity, modernization, security compliance, operational automation, and digital engineering initiatives. The position works closely with CXOs, CIOs, Business Heads, and cross-functional teams to enable scalable, secure, and cost-optimized platforms powering Connected Vehicles, Engineering Simulations (HPC), Digital Commerce, CRM, IoT, GenAI, and enterprise workloads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Strategy & Enterprise Architecture

- Define and maintain enterprise cloud strategy aligned to business vision and group digital roadmap.

- Lead Cloud CoE covering strategy, architecture, cost, governance, security, and operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

- Architect and operationalize multi-cloud Landing Zones with standardized guardrails, blueprints, LCM automation, and security controls.

- Drive modernization using open-source stacks (Linux, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes), PaaS, serverless, ARM/Graviton compute, microservices architectures.

- Conduct architecture reviews, reference architecture creation, workload assessments, and solution governance for all BUs.

Cloud FinOps & Financial Governance

- Manage cloud budgets with full accountability for optimization, contract negotiations, and consumption governance.

- Lead FinOps Operating Model for group companies with maturity assessments, cost allocation models, chargeback/showback, and policy enforcement.

- Institutionalize dashboards, KPIs, optimization levers, anomaly detection, and cloud financial insights for leadership.

Cloud Security, Governance & Observability

- Define security guardrails including IAM, Org Policies, network segmentation, key management, posture management, and compliance frameworks.

- Manage DevSecOps capabilities including SAST, DAST, dependencies scanning, and secure CI/CD workflows.

- Track reliability, latency, performance, and infrastructure health using Observability platform.

Key Transformation Projects

- Work closely with business teams to manage our key cloud projects including Connected Car, Data Platform, High Performance Computing.

- Lead delivery of enterprise-grade platforms solutions IoT, Data Engineering, Web Apps, and GenAI-based automation (Voice AI, Audit AI, Procurement AI).

- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-native applications.

Experience

11 - 14 yrs.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
