Principal Data Science Manager (Position located in Bengaluru, India)

As a Principal Data Science Manager at KnowBe4, you will play a pivotal role in driving our data science initiatives to new heights. Your expertise will shape our product development strategy and ensure the seamless integration of data-driven insights into our cybersecurity solutions. 

Responsibilities:

• May also lead a data science team that builds machine learning data models and algorithms to optimize products and processes


• Translates KnowBe4's strategic goals into operational plans


• Provides coordination across functional and divisional boundaries


• Developing state-of-the-art AI solutions to enable KnowBe4 products.


• Leading a team of data scientists and engineers to develop cutting-edge data solutions  that enhance our product offerings.


• Spearheading the design, execution, and deployment of Generative AI models, driving innovation in our cybersecurity products.


• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, and translating them into actionable data science requirements.


• Defining clear project goals, driving timelines, and ensuring that the team delivers results that meet or exceed targets.


• Championing  best  practices  in  data  science,  ensuring  the  integrity,  accuracy,  and security of our data assets.


• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.


• Regularly  monitoring  and  evaluating  project  progress,  identifying  opportunities  for improvement, and making data-driven decisions.

Requirements:

• BS or equivalent plus 12 years technical experience


• MS or equivalent plus 10 years technical experience


• Ph.D. or equivalent plus 8 years technical experience


• 8 years experience managing data science teams


• Minimum 10 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of 2+ years of successfully leading teams delivering data-driven products in a product development organization.


• Expertise  in  Generative  AI,  with  hands-on  experience  in  designing  systems  and implementing foundation models to develop products around Natural language, Image, and Video content generation.


• Experience  with  Foundation  model  fine-tuning  and  Retrieval-augmented  generation (RAG) development.  


• Hands-on experience with Transformers, LLMs deployments and Vector databases.


• Professional experience or learning projects using a few technologies like Langchain, Llamaindex, Pinecone, Sagemaker Jumpstart, Chatgpt, AWS Bedrock, and VertexAI.


• In-depth hands-on Individual Contributor experience in building machine learning and deep learning models, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools. 


• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and a deep understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques. 


• Hands-on  experience  with  AWS  services  and  exposure  to  AWS  machine  learning services. 


• Tech  stack  could  be  anything  within  the  data  science  realm  -  Experience  with  ML platforms  such  as  Tensorflow,  PyTorch,  etc.  and  open  to  quickly  learning  new technologies. 


• Exposure  in  managing  large  datasets,  with  a  focus  on  Data  Engineering  skills. Proficiency in Shell scripting, and familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Spark-SQL, and Scala is a plus. 


• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify business challenges and craft innovative data solutions. 


• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with  cross-functional  teams  and  present  complex  concepts  to  non-technical stakeholders. 


• Results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to drive projects to successful completion, meeting or exceeding goals.
