You will actively participate in and lead site operations and maintenance teams, providing technical leadership, subject\u2011matter expertise, and hands\u2011on engineering support across day\u2011to\u2011day operations and capital projects.\n\nYou will lead and support business process alignment for Chemical and Slurry systems across construction project design, project management, schedule coordination, cost control, testing and commissioning, and long\u2011term operations and maintenance programs for all manufacturing facilities within your assigned site or region.\n\nAs a Site Engineer based at your assigned location, you will represent the site in driving facility design standard alignment, construction project execution, and Operations \u0026 Maintenance (O\u0026M) Best Known Method (BKM) alignment initiatives, ensuring site needs are fully captured while maintaining compliance with corporate and network standards.\n\nYou will work closely with Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction, Line Planning, and O\u0026M teams to ensure site requirements are clearly represented. This includes providing practical design feedback, supplier quality input, constructability reviews, and operational and maintenance considerations throughout all phases of project execution.\n\nThe role requires active involvement in construction and expansion projects, including support for design reviews, standard alignment, supplier performance improvement, and testing and commissioning activities. You will ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations, enabling stable, reliable, and maintainable Chemical and Slurry system performance.\n\nYou will also support continuous improvement efforts by identifying operational gaps, driving corrective actions, strengthening maintenance programs, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and system OEMs to improve system reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance, while maintaining alignment with corporate and network facility standards.\n\nCritical metrics include construction project management, schedule, cost control, safety index, and facilities system reliability improvement program in eliminating production events that minimize lost moves and scrap.\n\nResponsibilities and tasks:\n\n * Project\n * Design and construction of green field project with alignment to global standards and collaboration with central sustainability, cost, construction and line planning team.\n * Engineering support for site projects, Alpha to Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects\n * Review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capex\n * Review priority and make business driven decision on Facilities Reliability Improvement project capex\n\n\n\n * Reliability\n * Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements)\n * Oversee efforts and identify opportunities to align strategic program (eg BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line)\n * Engineering Planning ,Review and Execute major SIPP .\n * Events lesson learnt sharing and influence of global standards development\n\n\n\n * Communication\n * MSI Single point of contact for GFC Regional and GFC central teams\n * Provide alignment on metrics reporting\n\n\n\n * Engineering, O\u0026M and Others\n * Serve as the site subject-matter expert (SME) for Chemical and Slurry systems, providing strong technical leadership in system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.\n * Provide day-to-day engineering support to site operations, maintenance, and construction teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant Chemical \u0026 Slurry system performance.\n * Technically lead and support site cross\u2011functional teams (Facilities, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Construction, OEMs) across design, installation, commissioning, and operational excellence activities.\n * Support construction and expansion projects for Chemical and Slurry systems, including design reviews, constructability input, FAT/SAT participation, commissioning, and handover to operations.\n * Provide on-site support during critical Chemical \u0026 Slurry system upsets or failures, including rapid troubleshooting, containment actions, and recovery support.\n * Actively support and participate in FIPA / RCA investigations, identifying root causes, defining corrective and preventive actions, and driving closure with site stakeholders.\n * Identify gaps in Defense Line 2 controls for Chemical and Slurry systems and drive corrective actions to strengthen system robustness and risk mitigation.\n * Review and improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance strategies to ensure consistent, effective execution aligned with site and network expectations.\n * Drive continuous improvement in Chemical and Slurry system performance through variation reduction, SPC monitoring, and reliability engineering methods.\n * Develop, review, and maintain Best Known Methods (BKMs), standard operating procedures, and maintenance practices to improve system reliability, safety, and maintainability.\n * Conduct site assessments to evaluate Chemical and Slurry system health, maintenance effectiveness, and operational discipline; track and drive closure of identified gaps.\n * Analyze and benchmark equipment and system performance, identifying opportunities for reliability improvement, optimization, and life\u2011cycle cost reduction.\n * Support training and competency development, including identification of training needs, development of technical training materials, and support of certification programs for site personnel.\n * Collaborate closely with OEMs and vendors to improve system design, address reliability issues, and implement design enhancements based on site operating experience.\n * Review capital requests and scope changes related to Chemical and Slurry systems, providing technical justification, risk assessment, and value\u2011engineering recommendations.\n * Identify and drive cost reduction and optimization opportunities without compromising safety, reliability, or compliance.\n * Collaborate with GFAC Central, OCT, and regional teams to align site practices with network standards and share lessons learned across sites.\n * Actively review Chemical \u0026 Slurry related site events, identify systemic gaps, and contribute lessons learned for broader network sharing.\n * Support implementation and sustainment of TPM methodologies for Chemical and Slurry systems at the site.\n * Provide 24/7 on\u2011call support and rapid response to site events, incidents, and system upsets to ensure safe and timely recovery. \n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Chemical Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience\n * Excellent analytical and good decision making skills\n * Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization\n * Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally\n * Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional and multi-cultural groups within and outside facilities\n * Proven ability to multi-task and lead team to meet challenging deadlines and goals\n * Proven ability to continuously improve systems and processes\n * Ability to foster strong relationships from cross-functional and multi-cultural groups\n * Exceptional customer focus\n\n\n\nEducation Required \n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering or any related field of study\n\n\n\nExperience Required \n\n * 12+ years of Facility Engineering experience\n\n\n\nExperience Desired\n\n * Lead or actively involved in facility Operation and Maintenance efforts\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nFacilities Engineer 5\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
