Wood Chennai Office is hiring the candidate for the Principal Engineer in Telecom expertise in Offshore FPSO Projects. Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.

Due to the nature of the projects the sites are spread across Global. Therefore, this role can be based at any of our Chennai offices on a hybrid / remote basis with the expectation of regular travel as required.

Wood Chennai Office is hiring the candidate for the Principal Engineer in Telecom expertise in Offshore FPSO Projects. Ability to prepare and check engineering deliverables in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering environment (Essential) Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.

TECHNICAL DESIGN ABILITY

1. Completes technical design work to a high standard in line with Project requirements in following domain:


2. Experienced in Offshore Green field projects (Well head, LQ, Riser Platform, Process platforms, FPSO, FPU, FSO) as Lead 


3. Prepare Telecom Basis of Design and Philosophy


4. Prepare Technical Specifications & Datasheets for the telecom equipment’s as applicable for the project.


5. Prepare and check Material requisition/Technical bid analysis for telecommunication Systems.


6. Experience in LAN/ Wi-Fi Network / Telephone System / Fiber optic networks Systems


7. Experience in PAGA, CCTV and access control systems


8. Experience in UHF Radio / VHF Radio / Telemetry System / Microwave Radio Link / VSAT System


9. Experience in Meteorological observations & Helicopter Monitoring System / NAVAID System


10. Experience in RADAR / Gyro and Differential Global Positioning Systems


11. Experience in INMARSAT / GDMSS & SSAS System


12. Post Order review of above telecom systems


13. Ability to lead medium teams in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering environment (Essential).


14. Provide Input and guide the designers in completing the Design drawings -Block Diagrams/Equipment Layouts/Routing Layouts.


15. Provide input and review the Modelling of the telecom equipment’s


16. Factory acceptance testing, construction, and commissioning support 

• Graduate in Electronics & Communication Engineer


• Postgraduate in Electronics & Communication Engineer (Desirable).


• Membership to Professional Organisations (Desirable).

Experience:

A minimum of 15 years of experience in Telecom Systems with lead role in detailed engineering project execution (Essential).
