The Principle Platform Owner / Architect is accountable for the overall strategy, architecture, governance, and core administration of the enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role ensures the platform is secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise technology strategy. Working in partnership with process owners, module-specific administrators, and cross-functional stakeholders, the role provides architectural leadership, establishes platform standards, and enables consistent, high-quality delivery across the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Own the enterprise ServiceNow platform strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce platform governance, architectural standards, and development best practices.
- Lead platform-wide architectural design, including shared capabilities, integrations, and common data models.
- Oversee core platform administration activities, including upgrades, performance monitoring, and operational health.
- Provide architectural guidance, technical oversight, and enablement to process owners and module teams.
- Coordinate platform-level intake, prioritization, release planning, and deployment approvals.
- Maintain authoritative platform documentation, standards, and administrative runbooks.
- Act as the primary technical advisor and escalation point for platform-related decisions.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow platform architecture, data models, integrations, and security concepts.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, web-based technologies, and integration patterns (REST/SOAP, APIs).
- Experience managing complex ServiceNow environments, including upgrades, migrations, and multi-instance strategies.
- Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps delivery models.
- Advanced ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or progress toward Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
- Experience with enterprise architecture, security architecture, or cloud integration patterns.
- Experience supporting large, regulated, or highly complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence within a federated or matrixed organizational model.
