About the Role We are looking for a highly strategic Principal Software Architect to drive the technical vision and system design of our core platforms. At this level, you will be the ultimate technical authority, responsible for designing hyper-scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure distributed systems. This role requires a hands-on architectural leader who can balance long-term technical strategy with immediate business deliverables, guiding engineering teams to build cloud-native applications that handle massive concurrency and complex data workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  System Architecture & Design: Own the end-to-end architecture of our core products, transitioning complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and highly available microservices and event-driven systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Technical Vision & Roadmap: Define and drive the long-term technological roadmap, ensuring the architecture anticipates future scale, security needs, and market expansions.

  
  


• 
  

  Engineering Leadership: Act as a mentor and guide for Staff and Senior Engineers, conducting rigorous architecture reviews, code reviews, and establishing elite engineering standards across the organization.

  
  


• 
  

  Cloud & Infrastructure Strategy: Lead the strategy for cloud-native infrastructure, optimizing compute costs, storage, and deployment pipelines across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.

  
  


• 
  

  Performance & Reliability: Establish frameworks for high availability, disaster recovery, and system observability. Proactively identify and resolve deep architectural bottlenecks before they impact end-users.

  Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with the C-Suite, Product Leadership, and Data Science teams to ensure the technology stack aligns seamlessly with broader business and AI/ML initiatives.

  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  

  Experience: 12 to 16+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in a dedicated Architectural role designing high-scale consumer internet or enterprise SaaS platforms.

  
  


• 
  

  Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from a premier institute.

  
  


• 
  

  System Design Expertise: Expert-level capability in designing complex distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-driven messaging pipelines (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).

  
  


• 
  

  Backend & Data Mastery: Deep polyglot programming experience (e.g., Java, Go, Node.js, Python) and authoritative knowledge of both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) database scaling strategies.

  
  


• 
  

  Cloud Native: Extensive hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and managing complex cloud infrastructure at scale.

  
  


• 
  

  Operational Excellence: Strong background in establishing CI/CD best practices, zero-downtime deployments, and advanced monitoring/alerting ecosystems.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

  Prior experience successfully breaking down legacy monolithic applications into modernized, decoupled architectures.

  Deep understanding of multi-region deployment strategies and global data compliance requirements.

  Active contributions to open-source software, or published whitepapers on system architecture and scalability.
