Principal Technician - Piping & Plant 3D

The Senior CAD Technician – Piping / Plant 3D role is focused on high‑quality CAD and 3D modelling production for water and wastewater treatment projects supporting Sweden/Nordic delivery teams. The role requires advanced Plant 3D expertise, strong quality assurance capability, and familiarity with international standards (ISO, SSG, SIS). Candidates should be able to produce accurate models, layouts, orthographic drawings, and isometrics, while ensuring QA/QC compliance up to LOD 400.

• Develop and update 3D piping and equipment models using Autodesk Plant 3D (2022 or later).
• Prepare smart P&IDs and support updates to P&ID drawings.
• Generate orthographic drawings, GA, plans, sections, elevations, and piping isometrics.
• Model piping systems, valves, supports, in‑line items, equipment, and local steel in compliance with ISO/SSG/SIS standards.
• Perform QA checks on own and others’ models, ensuring delivery in accordance with LOD 400.
• Use Plant Spec Editor and Plant Report Creator actively for specifications, tagging, and reporting.
• Prepare ISO drawings for pipe routing, including weld points, prefabrication splits, and BOM adjustments.
• Perform discipline‑level clash detection and resolution using Navisworks.
• Support hydraulic profile creation and pressure/stress analysis for closed piping systems (ROHR2, CAESAR II or similar).
• Extract MTOs, BOMs, line lists, and schedules from Plant 3D.
• Utilize point cloud/laser scan data (ReCap, CloudWorx) for as‑built modelling.
• Maintain project file quality, drawing standards, revision control, and documentation discipline.

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or relevant discipline.
• 7–18 years of CAD/Plant 3D/piping detailing experience.
• Minimum 4–5 years hands‑on Plant 3D experience on industrial/water projects.
• Experience in water/wastewater projects, piping systems, process skids, and utilities.
• Familiarity with ISO, SSG, SIS standards.
• Practical experience in multidisciplinary drafting/model coordination.
