Piper Serica is a leading investment management firm with over ₹1,300 Crore in assets under management across PMS, offshore FPI, Angel Investments, and Venture Capital. The fund focuses on AI, DeepTech, Advanced Electronics, Semiconductor, Robotics, SpaceTech, Enterprise Technology, and Technology-first FinTech companies, backing visionary founders building category-defining businesses.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal – Venture Capital to lead investments across DeepTech and FinTech sectors. This is a high-impact role involving the complete investment lifecycle—from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to deal execution, portfolio management, and exit planning.

You will work closely with founders, investment partners, and industry stakeholders while driving investments into high-growth technology startups.

Key Responsibilities

• Source high-quality investment opportunities through your network of founders, VCs, accelerators, and investment bankers.


• Evaluate technology startups through commercial, technical, financial, and market due diligence.


• Develop investment theses and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.


• Lead end-to-end deal execution, including financial modelling, negotiations, term sheets, and transaction closure.


• Work closely with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives, growth, governance, and performance monitoring.


• Drive portfolio value creation and support exit planning.


• Build strong relationships within the startup and venture capital ecosystem.

Mandatory Requirements

• 4–5+ years of direct Venture Capital investing experience.


• Strong track record of evaluating and investing in technology startups.


• Experience leading investments from sourcing to closure.


• Ability to independently negotiate investment transactions.


• Strong technical understanding of technology businesses.


• Experience conducting commercial and financial due diligence.


• Proven portfolio management experience.


• Experience working on at least three successful portfolio exits is mandatory.


• Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering or Science/Technology background preferred.


• Experience investing in Series A technology startups.


• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.


• Excellent understanding of India's startup ecosystem.

Ideal Candidate

You'll be a great fit if you have invested in technology companies with approximately ₹8–10 Crore revenue that were raising ₹50–100 Crore funding rounds and have independently led investments while building strong founder relationships.
