Process Designer - CLM

Job Description \u2013 Process Designer\n\nContract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Programme \u2013 Procurement \u0026 Legal Buy\u2011Side\n\nRole Overview\n\nThe Process Designer will play a critical role in shaping and embedding the future\u2011state procurement buy\u2011side contract lifecycle as part of the enterprise CLM transformation programme. This role is accountable for designing, standardising, and optimising end\u2011to\u2011end CLM processes\u2014ensuring they are business\u2011led, scalable, compliant, and aligned to the capabilities of the selected CLM platform (e.g. Sirion).\n\nWorking closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Digital, and the CLM CoE, the Process Designer will translate strategic intent and operating\u2011model decisions into clear, executable process designs that drive adoption, control, and value realisation.\n\n* * *\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n1\\. End\u2011to\u2011End Process Design (Buy\u2011Side CLM)\n\n * Own the design of end\u2011to\u2011end buy\u2011side CLM processes, covering:\n * Demand intake \u0026 procurement front door\n * Contract authoring, negotiation, and execution\n * In\u2011life contract \u0026 obligation management\n * Amendments, renewals, and terminations\n * Financial and compliance touchpoints\n * Design standardised, repeatable processes that can scale across business units, categories, and geographies.\n * Ensure clear separation of responsibilities across Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Business users.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n2\\. Current\u2011State Assessment \u0026 Target\u2011State Definition\n\n * Lead current\u2011state (as\u2011is) process assessments to identify fragmentation, manual workarounds, control gaps, and value leakage.\n * Define future\u2011state (to\u2011be) processes aligned to:\n * Procurement strategy and policy\n * CLM target operating model (TOM)\n * Sirion CLM platform capabilities\n * Clearly articulate process changes, impacts, and benefits for stakeholders.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n3\\. Process Mapping, Standards \u0026 Governance\n\n * Develop detailed process maps, swimlanes, and business rules (L2/L3 where required).\n * Define process standards, guardrails, and design principles for CLM.\n * Ensure processes align with:\n * Internal controls and audit requirements\n * Regulatory and compliance obligations\n * Delegation of authority and approval frameworks\n * Support the establishment of CLM process governance within the Procurement\u2011led CoE.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n4\\. Platform\u2011Aligned Process Design\n\n * Design processes that are natively aligned to Sirion CLM capabilities, including:\n * Clause and template management\n * Obligation and SLA tracking\n * Workflow automation and approvals\n * Claims, exceptions, and compliance reporting\n * Work closely with Business Analysts and Solution Designers to ensure:\n * Process intent is correctly translated into system configuration\n * Minimal customisation and maximum platform leverage\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n5\\. Cross\u2011Functional Stakeholder Collaboration\n\n * Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, BT Sourced, Digital and Architecture teams to agree and embed process designs.\n * Facilitate design workshops and working sessions with senior SMEs and process owners.\n * Act as the single point of accountability for process decisions within the buy\u2011side CLM scope.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n6\\. Change, Adoption \u0026 Value Realisation\n\n * Ensure process designs are simple, usable, and adoption\u2011ready.\n * Support change and adoption activities by:\n * Developing SOPs, playbooks, and process guidance\n * Supporting training and enablement sessions\n * Define process KPIs to measure:\n * Compliance\n * Cycle time\n * Value leakage prevention\n * User adoption\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n7\\. Continuous Improvement\n\n * Identify opportunities for process simplification and automation over time.\n * Support backlog prioritisation for future CLM enhancements from a process perspective.\n * Contribute to the evolution of the Procurement CLM operating model.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\nRequired Experience \u0026 Skills\n\nExperience\n\n * 6-10 years experience in process design, process transformation, or operating\u2011model design within Procurement, Contract Management, Finance, or Legal domains.\n * Hands\u2011on experience designing processes for CLM or procurement platforms (Sirion, Ariba Contracts, Icertis, etc.).\n * Experience working in large, complex, multi\u2011stakeholder organisations.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\nFunctional \u0026 Domain Expertise\n\n * Strong understanding of buy\u2011side procurement and contract lifecycle processes.\n * Deep knowledge of:\n * Contract authoring \u0026 approvals\n * In\u2011life contract \u0026 obligation management\n * Renewals, amendments, and commercial governance\n * Ability to design processes that balance control, speed, and usability.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\nCore Skills\n\n * Expert\u2011level process mapping and design skills.\n * Strong facilitation and stakeholder\u2011management capability.\n * Ability to translate strategic intent into practical, executable process designs.\n * Excellent documentation and communication skills, including for senior leadership audiences.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\nWays of Working\n\n * Comfortable operating in agile / hybrid transformation programmes.\n * High ownership mindset with a strong bias for standardisation and simplification.\n * Collaborative and outcome\u2011focused.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Certifications in Lean / Six Sigma, BPMN, Agile, or Operating Model Design.\n * Experience in enterprise CLM rollouts or large\u2011scale procurement transformation programmes.\n * Exposure to governance, controls, and audit frameworks in regulated environments.\n\n\n
