Procurement Associate (Food Industry)

Position :  Procurement Associate

Type : on Contract for 12 months

 Key Responsibilities :

• Manage end-to-end procurement of RM, PM and laboratory supplies for R&D, pilot plant and packaging activities.


• Source specialty, sample, small-lot and imported materials as per project requirements.


• Raise, track and close POs, ensuring timely material delivery.


• Verify incoming materials against specifications, quantity and CoAs and resolve discrepancies.


• Maintain accurate inventory, batch traceability, storage conditions and FIFO/FEFO.


• Forecast material requirements with R&D and ensure trial readiness.


• Optimise procurement quantities to minimise wastage, expiry and excess inventory.


• Identify supply risks and develop alternate/backup suppliers for critical materials.


• Evaluate vendors on cost, quality, lead time and reliability and negotiate commercial terms.


• Maintain audit-ready procurement records and coordinate with Finance for payments.


• Track and report stock, open POs, procurement spend, savings and wastage.

Qualification & Education :

·  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience in the food industry, preferably in procurement and purchase, inventory and stores management, and vendor management.

·  Strong skills in documentation, record maintenance, and data management.

·  Working knowledge of Zoho, MS Excel, and data analysis tools.

·  Good understanding of vendor negotiations, commercial terms, pricing, and purchase processes.

·  Strong coordination, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure timely execution.
