Procurement / Purchase Head

Position Summary:

The Purchase Head will oversee all procurement activities for the ethanol plant, focusing on the acquisition of raw materials such as rice and coal. This role is vital for ensuring cost -effective, timely, and quality procurement to support plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Management:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the plants operational and financial goals.
  
• Manage the procurement of rice, coal, and other raw materials critical to ethanol production.
  
• Oversee the purchase of machinery, equipment, and spare parts for the plants smooth functioning.

Vendor Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  
• Negotiate favorable terms, contracts, and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery timelines, and service standards.

Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:

• Ensure adequate inventory levels to prevent disruptions in plant operations.
  
• Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  
• Optimize supply chain processes to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.

Cost and Quality Control:

• Maintain a balance between cost -effectiveness and quality standards.
  
• Conduct regular market analysis to stay updated on price trends and alternative suppliers.
  
• Ensure compliance with the quality standards and specifications required for ethanol production.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  
• Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, including cost analysis and vendor performance reviews.

Experience and Expertise:

• Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in procurement, specifically in ethanol, distillery, or related industries.
  
• Proven expertise in sourcing raw materials like rice and coal.
  
• Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment procurement for plant operations.
