Producer, BBC News Telugu (Delhi Based)

Job description:

Producer will be responsible for error -free writing, editing and producing
a range of digital content - in text, video, and audio formats for our Website,
TV, Social Platforms and podcasts, to the highest professional standards. You
will also be required to exercise editorial judgement of the highest standards
in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.

• Reporting to the Editor, the Producer is responsible
  for originating and producing original stories from the ground. The role
  includes ideation, scripting, editing, outputting, filming content across
  a range of digital output.
  
• Commission and select relevant materials ensuring they
  meet expectations of our audiences.
  
• Ensure all content published on BBC News Telugu website
  and its social media platforms adhere to the BBC editorial and social
  media guidelines.
  
• May be required to present live or recorded content
  online on BBC News Telugu social media platforms.
  
• Have effective coordination with the Planner to ensure
  the planning process reflects ground reality, producing unique content for
  BBC News Telugu audience.
  
• Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within
  the required timeframe using available resources.
  
• Ensure all content published in BBC News Telugu
  website, social media platforms and TV programmes are without factual or
  grammatical errors.
  
• Ensure effective use of resources and materials between
  Digital and TV teams.
  
• Monitor developments/Breaking News from the region and
  around the world and publish appropriately with value addition and
  perspective.
  
• Act as a bridge between team members and Editor to
  ensure desired results in terms of output and coordination.
  
• Deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining quality
  and highest editorial standards.
  
• At all times, carry out duties in accordance with the
  organisation’s health and safety policy.
  

Requirements

Knowledge, skills, training and experience:

• A high standard of editorial judgment, writing ability
  and production skills based on substantial digital j\eliver to achieve its target.
  
• Maximizes opportunities offered by existing and
  emerging technologies to their fullest extent.
  
• Ability to contribute effectively for the benefit of
  Digital and TV platforms.
  
• Strong command over the
  Telugu language
  
• Excellent writing skills
  and Proven ability to translate content from English to Telugu
  
• Creative thinking skills
  with the ability to generate original ideas that engage audiences
  
• Exposure to the
  digital ecosystem will be an added advantage
  
• Ability to write creatively in an engaging manner,
  adapt, produce and translate with accuracy, clarity and style appropriate
  to differing audiences and forms of media suitable for multimedia output.
  
• To ensure all published content adheres to the BBC
  editorial standards and is without any factual or grammatical errors.
  
• Flexible and adaptable to sustain performance,
  particularly under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities and
  circumstances.
