PRODUCT MANAGER — GST & FINANCIAL SYSTEMS | FINKRAFT.AI
Location: Bengaluru, HSR | Full-time | Level: L4 | Reports to: CPO / BU Head


ABOUT FINKRAFT.AI

Finkraft.ai is a B2B SaaS company that enables enterprises to maximise GST claims on travel and expense data. The platform automates invoice collection, validation, and reconciliation across airlines and hotels — helping finance teams at McKinsey, BCG, Capgemini, Abbott, and 1,250+ enterprises improve compliance, visibility, and cash recovery. We've recovered ₹300Cr+ in GST claims and are scaling from $1.5M to $10M ARR in 18 months.

The GST suite is Finkraft's core product and the primary reason 1,250+ enterprises trust us. This PM owns it.


THE PROBLEM YOU ARE SOLVING

A large enterprise has hundreds of GSTINs across entities. Their GSTR-2A shows invoices that don't match their purchase register. Their GSTR-2B locks on the 14th and there are amendments they didn't catch. Their ITC is partially reversed because a vendor filed late. A notice has arrived and nobody in the finance team can reconstruct the audit trail fast enough.

This is not a hypothetical. This is Tuesday for Finkraft's customers.

Your job is to be the deepest GST domain expert in the building — deeper than the sales team, deeper than the BAs, deeper than the engineers — and translate that expertise into a product that makes these problems systematic to solve rather than heroic to manage.


WHAT YOU WILL OWN IN 90 DAYS



  1. GST knowledge base v1 live: AI-powered, queryable, covering all GSTR return types, ITC matching logic, e-invoicing flows, IMS workflows, and key CBIC circulars from the last 3 years — used by Sales and BA teams daily, not just available.

  2. Cygnet and GSP/ASP integration map completed: every current integration documented at schema and API level, gaps identified, and a prioritised integration roadmap delivered to engineering.

  3. Reconciliation accuracy benchmark set: current ITC match rate, mismatch categories, and automation coverage measured — baseline established, improvement targets agreed with leadership.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

GST Product Roadmap Ownership



  • Own the end-to-end product roadmap for GST reconciliation, IMS, audit support, and litigation workflows

  • Prioritise features based on enterprise client pain, regulatory change impact, and competitive gaps — not internal assumptions or loudest-customer logic

  • Present roadmap to leadership, Sales, and enterprise clients at QBRs; defend prioritisation with data and customer evidence

  • Track delivery against roadmap commitments; own the variance between what was promised and what shipped

GSP/ASP Integration — Cygnet and Beyond



  • Own the product relationship with Cygnet and other GSP/ASP partners: integration architecture decisions, API schema alignment, edge case resolution, and escalation handling

  • Maintain detailed integration documentation at schema level — field mapping, error handling, retry logic, and reconciliation of discrepancies between partner data and GSTN portal data

  • Identify gaps in current GSP integrations that cause downstream reconciliation failures; define fixes and prioritise with engineering

  • Evaluate additional GSP/ASP integration opportunities: IRIS, ClearTax, Masters India — build vs. partner decision with commercial and technical inputs

Reconciliation Domain Leadership



  • Set and own the reconciliation accuracy standard: ITC match rate, mismatch categorisation, auto-resolution rate, and manual intervention rate — measured monthly, improving quarterly

  • Define edge case handling for every known reconciliation scenario: GSTR-2A vs. 2B discrepancies, amended invoices, credit notes, ITC reversals, late vendor filings, GSTIN mismatches, cancelled invoices, and partial payments

  • Partner with engineering to ensure reconciliation logic is documented, tested, and auditable — every decision traceable

  • Be the escalation point when a customer's reconciliation output is wrong: you investigate, you explain, you fix

E-Invoicing Product Ownership



  • Own the product surface for e-invoicing: IRN generation flows, IRP connectivity, e-way bill linkage, and B2B mandate compliance

  • Track CBIC threshold changes and mandate expansions; update product ahead of compliance deadlines — not reactively

  • Handle edge cases in e-invoicing: cancellation within 24 hours, amendment flows, multi-GSTIN IRN management, and bulk generation for high-volume clients

  • Ensure e-invoicing data feeds correctly into reconciliation flows — no orphaned IRNs, no unmatched GSTR-1 entries

AI-Powered GST Knowledge Base



  • Build and own a central, AI-powered knowledge base covering: all GSTR return types and filing logic, ITC matching and reversal rules, IMS workflow mechanics, e-invoicing standards, CBIC circulars and GSTN advisories, audit and litigation response frameworks, and customer-reported edge cases and their resolutions

  • The knowledge base must be queryable by Sales and BA teams in real time — not a document library, a working tool

  • Update the knowledge base within 48 hours of any CBIC circular, GSTN advisory, or significant customer edge case resolution

  • Use LLMs actively in knowledge base architecture: RAG-based retrieval, prompt templates for common GST queries, automated circular summarisation

Market and Regulatory Intelligence



  • Maintain a live tracker of GSTN portal changes, CBIC regulatory updates, and GST Council decisions — reviewed weekly, fed into roadmap prioritisation monthly

  • Monitor competitor product releases and feature changes: ClearTax, IRIS GST, Zoho Books GST, TallyPrime, KDK Spectrum, Cleartax ARC — what they're shipping, what gaps remain, where Finkraft has an edge

  • Bring external intelligence into product decisions with evidence: not "competitors are doing X" but "ClearTax shipped X in March, here's what it does, here's why our approach is better or worse"

  • Track IMS evolution at the GSTN level: new functionality, adoption patterns among enterprise filers, and implications for Finkraft's IMS product

Sales and BA Team Enablement



  • Participate actively in enterprise client solutioning conversations — pre-sales, scoping calls, and QBRs where GST domain depth is needed

  • Build and maintain a sales-ready GST capability deck: what Finkraft's reconciliation engine does, how it handles edge cases, and how it compares to manual processes or competitor tools

  • Debrief with BA teams after field meetings: what GST problems surfaced, how they map to product gaps, and what the fix should be

  • Be available to Sales within 24 hours for any technical GST query that would otherwise delay a deal






Requirements



REQUIREMENTS

Must Have



  • 5+ years of combined experience in GST/indirect tax and product management — both, not one with a passing interest in the other

  • Deep working knowledge of GSTR-1, 2A, 2B, 3B, 9, and 9C: filing logic, matching rules, amendment flows, and reconciliation edge cases

  • Hands-on understanding of IMS: how it works at the GSTN level, what accept/reject/pending logic means for ITC, and what breaks in practice

  • Solid understanding of e-invoicing: IRN generation, IRP connectivity, e-way bill linkage, cancellation and amendment flows

  • Technical aptitude: comfortable reading APIs, JSON schemas, and discussing integration architecture with engineers without a translator

  • High AI fluency: actively uses LLMs for analysis, documentation, summarization, and knowledge management — not experimentally, in daily workflow

Strong Preference



  • CA / CS / LLB with a tax specialization — formal qualification plus product instincts is the rare combination this role needs

  • Prior experience at a GSP (Cygnet, IRIS, Masters India), ASP, Big 4 indirect tax practice, or tax-tech startup (ClearTax, Taxmann, KDK)

  • Has handled GST audit support or litigation response for an enterprise client — knows what the finance team actually needs when a notice arrives

  • Hands-on with Cygnet, ClearTax, IRIS, or similar platforms at an integration or implementation level
