This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Product Security Engineer in India.
In this role, you will be responsible for embedding security deeply into the product lifecycle of a high-performance distributed ledger platform. You will work at the intersection of blockchain protocol design, cryptography, and application security to identify and eliminate vulnerabilities before they reach production. The environment is highly technical and innovation-driven, involving EVM-compatible services, cross-chain infrastructure, and cryptographic primitives at scale. You will conduct advanced security research, including hands-on exploitation and adversarial testing, to strengthen system resilience. This role has direct impact on the safety, reliability, and trustworthiness of enterprise-grade decentralized systems used globally. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate security-by-design principles into every release. The position is ideal for a security expert passionate about breaking complex systems to make them stronger.
Accountabilities:
- Lead end-to-end security assessments across blockchain protocols, smart contracts, distributed systems, and cryptographic components, ensuring vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated early in the development lifecycle.
- Perform hands-on adversarial testing, including exploit development, protocol-level analysis, and validation of real-world attack scenarios beyond automated scanning tools.
- Design and execute threat models and security architecture reviews across product features, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
- Build and enhance security tooling, fuzzing frameworks, and CI/CD-integrated security automation to scale detection capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate complex cryptographic and protocol risks into actionable remediation plans.
- Define and enforce security gates and standards before production deployments of new components and services.
- Monitor emerging blockchain and Web3 threat landscapes and proactively map attack patterns to internal systems for early mitigation.
Requirements
You bring deep hands-on experience in product security, with a strong focus on blockchain systems, cryptography, and distributed architectures. You are comfortable analyzing complex systems at protocol and code level and have a proven ability to discover real vulnerabilities in production-grade environments.
- Strong experience in vulnerability research across blockchain protocols, smart contracts, nodes, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to identify and exploit security flaws beyond automated scanning techniques.
- Deep understanding of threat modeling and security architecture in decentralized or cryptographic systems.
- Experience with cross-chain systems, consensus mechanisms, or cryptographic schemes such as BLS signatures, threshold cryptography, or polynomial commitments.
- Strong applied cryptography knowledge, including failure modes and real-world security implications.
- Hands-on experience with fuzzing, static/dynamic analysis, and security testing tool development.
- Ability to audit or analyze systems written in Rust and/or Java, with awareness of memory safety and low-level security risks.
- Experience in blockchain security (EVM and/or non-EVM ecosystems), including secure coding practices.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to collaborate with engineering teams.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with high ownership and research-driven problem solving.
