Production Manager

We are looking to hire a talented and passionate Production Manager (ALS Lubricants) for one of our Clients based in Tanzania. Must have previous local experience. This job requires willingness to RELOCATE to TANZANIA.

Work Purpose: Own end-to-end blending, filling/packaging, and dispatch to deliver safe, compliant, on-spec lubricants at target cost and OTIF.

Key responsibilities:

●     Plan daily/weekly blending & filling schedules vs. demand; manage tank farm and base oil/additive reconciliation.

●     Lead EHS (PTW/LOTO), 5S, toolbox talks, near-miss reporting; drive a zero-harm culture.

●     Ensure in-process & FG quality gates with Lab; manage NCRs/CAPA and customer complaints.

●     Improve throughput, yield, and OEE; minimize changeovers/flush losses (SMED mindset).

●     Coordinate preventive maintenance, spares, and utilities uptime with Engineering.

●     Implement & enforce SOPs, batch records, line clearance; train and certify operators.

●     Control inventories (base oils, additives, packaging); prevent contamination & mix-ups.

●     Prepare daily/weekly MIS; support ISO 9001/14001/45001 audits and customer audits.

●     Support NPI: treat-rate trials, pilot blends, first-article runs, and ramp-up plans.

●     BSc/BEng in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).

●     6–10 years in lubricants blending/packaging or related process manufacturing, incl. 3+ years leading shifts/lines.

●     Hands-on with blending kettles, tank farm operations, flexitank/IBC offloading, filling/labeling lines.

●     Working knowledge of API/SAE/ACEA specs and line changeover/flush best practices.

Skills (hard & soft)

●     Production planning, OEE, SMED, RCA (5-Why/Fishbone); strong EHS & quality mindset.

●     Clear SOP/documentation; shop-floor leadership; Excel/ERP (SAP/Odoo) literacy; basic MOC.

●     Collaboration with QC, Maintenance, SCM, and Sales.

Nice-to-have

●     Start-up/greenfield experience; ISO implementation; English/French/Swahili fluency.
