Experience Requirement

5–7 years of experience in Packaging / Production operations with shift-handling responsibility

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Shift Operations

• Plan and execute packaging activities as per monthly production plans and inspection schedules.
• Deploy manpower effectively based on shift workload and packaging requirements.
• Monitor production orders, confirm job execution, and ensure on‑time package completion.
• Plan activities considering space availability and readiness for upcoming orders.
• Coordinate piping, wiring, and overall package readiness as per drawings and customer requirements.

 

2. Manpower Supervision & Workforce Management

• Supervise operators and technicians during shift operations.
• Provide on‑the‑job technical guidance and resolve shop‑floor issues.
• Conduct toolbox talks at the beginning of each shift.
• Motivate the workforce to maintain high standards of productivity, discipline, safety, and quality.

3. Quality Assurance & NCR Management

• Offer completed jobs to Quality Control and support inspection activities.
• Attend inspections and close all punch points for package readiness.
• Raise and manage NCRs (internal & external) and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement in‑house rework solutions to minimize outsourcing and delays.
• Drive adherence to Zero NCR targets for the packaging department.

4. Subcontracting & In‑Process Activities

• Plan, coordinate, and follow up on subcontracted activities, including:
  • Blasting & Painting
  • Piping fabrication and hydro testing
  • Radiography Testing (RT)
  • Pump Insulation
• Ensure subcontracted work meets quality, safety, and delivery commitments.

5. Materials, Consumables & Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Identify shortages in materials and consumables.
• Coordinate with Stores, Warehouse, Purchase, Planning teams for timely availability.
• Prepare consumable requirement forecasts and follow up for procurement.
• Coordinate maintenance activities during breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Ensure calibrated tools and gauges are submitted to QC as per schedule.

6. Productivity & Performance Monitoring

• Maintain and review JCP (Job Capacity Planning) monthly.
• Ensure effective and optimal manpower utilization.
• Monitor execution of paperless production systems.
• Ensure accurate confirmation of production hours and SAP entries.

7. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices, including:
  • 5S
  • Kaizen
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Submit Kaizen proposals monthly and motivate employees to contribute improvement ideas.
• Conduct and participate in periodic 5S audits.
• Drive digital and paperless systems across packaging operations.

8. Training & Skill Development

• Identify training needs and conduct skill development programs for shop‑floor personnel.
• Support capability building to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

9. Safety, Health & Environment (ESH)

• Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and PPE usage.
• Conduct regular safety walks and record observations in Intelex or equivalent systems.
• Issue safety memos for violations and enforce discipline.
• Report near‑miss incidents during each shift.
• Provide immediate first aid in case of injury or emergency.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and hazard identification mindset.
