We’re a mission driven startup studio (read more here) that builds impact oriented startups to better the mind, body and the earth. We work with Founders as their institutional co-founder until their venture is a self sufficient organisation and ready to scale. But we are not advisors, mentors, investors, incubators or accelerators - we are all of these! We are always co-building with the Founder, creatively, conscientiously, through the power of communities.

Your mission, should you choose to accept 

(accountabilities)

• DISCOVERY - Create and execute sourcing strategy to build a pipeline of impact startups in the manufacturing & engineering + technology & services domain - reaching out to the best channels to find impact startups and supporting them to apply for our program - 
  • attend appropriate events to network (online/offline)
  • partner with like-minded organisations (institutions / incubators / accelerators etc)
  • implement an online strategy along with publishing experience based content
  • consider PR if relevant
  • lead implementation of in-house events (demo day ; startup social)
• ESTABLISH FIT - Assess and finalise the most aligned impact startups to invest in and build - 
  • lead smooth functioning and designing operational processes like pipeline management, syncing and coordinating with team members, investors & founders 
  • run market research to assess viability of startups
  • collect data and complete an internal scorecard to determine mutual fit (includes data analysis, financial modelling etc) 
  • close deals and agreements, post thorough startup due diligence and associated compliances, with experts and internal team members
  • ensure collection and analysis of founder feedback leading to process improvement
• BUILD - Take startups from zero to one and be a 'sherpa' on their growth journey
  • be the 'sherpa' to founders, assist when asked, not be an overbearing alpha, working in the founders best interest and offering advise through examples
  • lead founder workshops in different expertise areas
  • manage and update the internal stakeholders like advisors and investors
  • manage the community of vendors and engage mentors/subject matter experts when required, in areas such as strategy, sales, marketing, finance, fundraising, process design etc.
  • document communication with the founders transparently, with the 'why' and data-driven insights
  • train new team members and support the hiring process 
  • identify and implement tech tools as per the requirement
  • support in running our syndicate program to facilitate follow-on funding for startups

What you need to bring to the table

(skills, character traits)

• MUST HAVE -  
  • experience of building startups, either your own startup(s) or as part of the founding team (product and organization building experience) and in the startup as founder/part of founding team, have raised funding and achieved profitability, OR have run a successful accelerator/incubator/venture builder program in a leadership role
  • are willing to work primarily for profit share (similar to equity).
• A structured approach to understanding a founder’s needs. 
• Experience in working with multiple startups (as a consultant or at an incubator/accelerator/VC) and a good understanding/access to the entrepreneurship ecosystem
• Ability to deal seamlessly with cross-functional teams and multiple organizations 
• Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with founders, traditional business leaders, peers, and mentors
• Design think and structure product development end-to-end
• Personality traits include being structured, organized, motivated, social, energetic, empathetic, humble, self-managers/starters, and patient to guide founders and build startups effectively.
• Overall alignment to build3 values is a must, do have a look at our pretty long, but well considered list <3
• Proficiency in English, knowledge of Hindi is a good to have ; the role is based out of Goa 

• build3 will provide a remuneration of INR 1 Lakh + profit share (similar to carried interest if you're familiar with venture capital parlance).

• We will support you in finding a landing pad in Goa for your time here. If you're comfortable staying in a shared dorm, we have some facilities and we will be happy to provide that at no additional cost to you.
