We are seeking an experienced Program Head to lead large-scale software engineering programs and drive the successful delivery of complex, mission-critical software initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in software engineering, program management, and software certification processes, capable of managing multiple engineering teams while ensuring delivery excellence, technical quality, and regulatory compliance.

As the Program Head, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple software workstreams, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for program planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, governance, and continuous process improvement while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams across various functional areas to ensure successful program execution.
• Own end-to-end program planning, execution, resource management, and timely delivery of software milestones.
• Drive software certification activities and ensure compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards.
• Establish and enforce software development processes, governance frameworks, and quality standards across teams.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, integration, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless software delivery.
• Monitor program progress, identify technical and delivery risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage stakeholder communication, executive reporting, program reviews, and customer engagements.
• Oversee software quality, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across the development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineering managers and technical leads while promoting collaboration, accountability, and high-performance team culture.
• Drive process optimization, engineering best practices, and continuous enhancement of development methodologies and toolchains.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technical program management, or software delivery leadership.
• Strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience managing large, cross-functional software engineering teams and complex technology programs.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, embedded systems, real-time software, or mission-critical application development.
• Hands-on experience with software certification processes such as DO-178C, MIL-STD, or similar industry standards.
• Strong expertise in program planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery governance.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, systems, hardware, quality, and customer-facing teams.
• Experience driving engineering process improvements, software quality initiatives, and organizational scalability.
• PMP, PRINCE2, MBA, or equivalent leadership or project management qualifications are an added advantage.
