Job Description - Program Manager

The Program Manager will oversee the design, execution, and monitoring of multiple programs in the socio-political space. The ideal candidate will have a robust project management background, extensive experience in large-scale project implementation, and a creative approach to problem-solving. The role involves managing a mid-sized team, guiding their work, and ensuring all projects align with our strategic objectives. The Program Manager will also handle stakeholder management and hiring processes, ensuring the team is composed of diligent and innovative professionals.

Program Management, Project Design and Implementation::

  • Design, plan, develop, and implement multiple comprehensive strategies to propagate the projects across targeted regions.
  • Monitor program performance and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a mid-sized team of professionals.
  • Review and guide the work produced by the team, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with stakeholders including internal team members, consultants, subject matter experts., and other partners.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and public forums.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to advance program objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports, presentations, and updates for senior management, board members, and other key stakeholders.

Creative Problem-Solving:

  • Apply creative thinking to address challenges and enhance program impact.
  • Encourage and cultivate innovative ideas within the team.

Recruitment and Training:

  • Participate in the hiring process to build a competent and motivated team.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in the field of social sciences or marketing is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in program management, with a focus on governance, public policy, or allied fields.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful projects at scale, preferably in the context of social or political initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members towards common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and manage conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
  • Familiarity with the principles and ideologies of Dravidianism is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
