ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for delivering technically compliant, cost-optimized design for Instrumentation and associated Electrical engineering for solution project like flow metering and analytical projects across proposal and execution phases. Ensures timely preparation of engineering deliverables, proactive stakeholder communication, and technical support during life cycle of the project.

Engineering Responsibility in the Proposal and Execution Phase

  • Requirements Understanding & Compliance: Review RFQ, specifications, datasheets, hazardous area classification, and client standards. Develop deviation/clarification list to ensure compliance and avoid overdesign.

  • Concept & Basis of Design: Selection and sizing of instruments along with defining  Power distribution general arrangement, power and instrumentation cable selection & sizing philosophy, cable tray routing concept, junction box locations, and grounding/bonding requirements. Prepare preliminary instruments & associated electrical component list & Datasheets of Electrical component (Switch gears, cable, cable trays, junction boxes, power distribution cabinets, etc.). Ensure hazardous area compliance (ATEX/IECEx) for instruments & associated electrical components.

  • Preliminary Layout & MTO: Prepare preliminary cable schedule, tray layout, and junction box arrangement. Estimate MTO for cables, trays, glands, junction boxes, and electrical accessories.

  • Risk & Constructability: Identify technical risks. Propose constructability measures for wiring, tray installation, and instrument mounting.

  • Detailed Design & Documentation: Prepare detailed specification for instrumentation and associated electrical components, datasheets, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, junction box termination drawings, and instrument hook-up drawings. Develop instrument and electrical component installation details. Prepare hazardous area layout and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

  • Vendor Management (Technical): Review and approve vendor GA/datasheets for instrument and associated electrical components. Resolve technical queries and ensure conformance to project specifications.

  • Constructability & Fabrication Support: Issue installation drawings for instruments, cable trays, junction boxes, and instrument mounting. Define inspection checkpoints and FAT requirements for instruments and electrical systems.

  • Assembly, Installation & Testing: Support installation, cable termination, loop checks, calibration. Coordinate with control system engineer for interface testing and SAT.

  • Change Control: Manage design changes via TQ/SQ processes; assess technical impacts promptly. Maintain interface register across electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and client.

  • Engineering : Instrumentation (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Analytical)  and Control System

  • Delivering value engineering
