Project Engineer - Civil Execution (Residential Buildings)

Desired candidate qualification and experience: 

• Diploma in Civil Engineering / B.E.Civil Engineering candidates with at least 5 years field experience exclusively in residential building construction


• M.E/M.Tech Construction Management candidates with at least 3 years experience after degree in managing multiple residential projects (high rise, residential townships/ planned layouts)


• Only candidates having experience in residential apartments and those who have worked for reputed contractors will be preferred

Typical job functions:

The indicative responsibilities associated with this job include,

• Management of site activities and in-charge of all functions of the project including supervising the progress at site and monitoring the site labour force


• Provide detailed inputs and feedback during project planning/program


• Supervision of ongoing building work such as Block/RCC Work, concreting, electrical, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, painting, plumbing etc., at all stages


• Coordinate with different contractors/ agencies to ensure quality work


• Ensuring the quality as per designed specifications


• Ensure material, manpower & resource management on site


• Maintain day to day record of work progress at site


• Extract quality work from Junior Engineers and site supervisors


• Managing and solving labor problems at site and ensuring smooth work progress


• Verification of measurements for billing and giving approvals in finalization of sub-contractor billings


• Ensuring all safety protocols are followed at the site


• Ensuring that correct version of drawings are being followed at site

In short, ensuring overall site management, work execution and progress compliance..

Other information:

• Each project will have a resident engineer who will be under your direct control and supervision


• You will have to cater to multiple project sites in the same area simultaneously. Must be ready for day to day travelling within the city


• You will have to co-ordinate with Architects / Consultants for questions/doubts and be responsible for having the changes recorded in the office


• You will have to occasionally deal with customers (flat purchasers) for change orders / modifications and estimate material and labor requirements


• You will have to determine the site material requirements in advance and co-ordinate with the purchase assistant for timely placement of orders


• Having your own two wheeler and valid driving license required is required

Location:

This job majorly involves field/site work. It is mandatory to be at our project site at all times of execution. You will have to visit main office every alternate day to discuss work progression / planning and reporting.

Incase of sub-contracted building construction works, it is essential to visit site to ensure compliance to specification and quality and to track productivity/progress.

The project sites are likely to be in within Chennai city limits.
