About the Role:

The District Project Lead will spearhead the implementation of the NIPUN Mission at the district level, driving significant improvements in foundational literacy and numeracy. You will lead a team of Project Managers within the District Project Management Unit (DPMU), acting as a crucial bridge between district and block-level stakeholders and the mission's goals. Your focus will be on building strong relationships, providing strategic direction, and ensuring effective project execution to enhance student learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with key district and block officials, including the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, Basic Shiksha Adhikari, DIET Principal, and Block Education Officers.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans, setting clear goals and implementing targeted interventions to overcome challenges and achieve project objectives.
  • Act as a strong advocate for the NIPUN Mission, effectively influencing stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
• Program Management and Oversight:
  • Provide comprehensive academic, governance, and monitoring oversight to the DPMU team, ensuring the timely and effective achievement of project deliverables.
  • Strengthen relevant review committees and forums by providing expert technical guidance and support.
  • Unblock project bottlenecks by problem solving, and escalation when needed.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Effectively manage and lead a team of Project Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Ensure team members are supported and enabled to achieve their goals.
• Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Design and implement robust data monitoring systems to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data to generate actionable insights and inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in leading and implementing complex, operations-oriented projects.
• Strong Leadership and Team Management: Experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve ambitious goals.
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and effectively influence decision-making.
• Deep Understanding of the Indian Education Sector: Prior hands-on experience working within the Indian education system, particularly with government stakeholders.
• Data Analysis and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a pragmatic approach to driving actionable insights from data.
• Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive successful project execution.
