Position:
Project Manager – Palliative Care

Programme: Community-Based Palliative and Supportive Care for Elderly
Reporting to: Mission Head – Health / Deputy Director- Mission Health

Tenure : One year

Role Purpose

To lead, manage,
and ensure effective implementation of the Community-Based Palliative Care
Project by overseeing program operations, partnerships, team performance, and
quality service delivery, ensuring improved access to palliative care for
elderly patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme
Management & Implementation

  • Lead overall planning, execution,
    and monitoring of the palliative care project.

  • Ensure timely rollout of services
    including home-based care, patient identification, and referrals.

  • Develop micro-plans for geographic
    coverage, outreach, and service delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to project
    timelines, deliverables, and donor requirements.

2. Team
Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and guide the
    multidisciplinary team including Medical Officer, Nurse, Physiotherapist,
    and Community Coordinator.

  • Conduct regular team meetings,
    case reviews, and performance assessments.

  • Support capacity building and
    training of project staff and volunteers.

3. Clinical
& Service Quality Oversight

  • Ensure quality standards in
    palliative care delivery in line with established protocols.

  • Facilitate coordination between
    clinical and community teams for integrated care.

  • Monitor patient care plans,
    referrals, and follow-up mechanisms.

4. Monitoring,
Reporting & Documentation

  • Ensure accurate data collection,
    MIS management, and documentation.

  • Review monthly reports, patient
    data, and program progress.

  • Prepare donor reports,
    presentations, and review documents.

5. Financial
& Administrative Oversight

  • Monitor project budgets,
    expenditures, and resource utilisation.

  • Ensure compliance with
    organisational policies and donor guidelines.

  • Support procurement and logistics
    for project operations.

6. Advocacy
& Program Development

  • Support advocacy efforts for
    integration of palliative care into public health systems.

  • Identify opportunities for program
    expansion and scale-up.

  • Contribute to proposal development
    and strategic planning.



Requirements

Qualifications
& Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health /
    Hospital Administration / Social Work / Healthcare Management or related
    field

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in public health or healthcare program management
  • Experience in palliative care, oncology,
    geriatric care, or community health programs
    preferred

  • Experience working with government
    health systems and NGOs
