Programme Overview  

Peepul has been partnering with the School Education
Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely
with the state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful role in
strengthening the education system of the state.  

The partnership has been a successful one – with national
and international recognition of the work. One of the flagship programmes of
the state we are co -leading is the Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme. This breakthrough programme looks to build ~10,000
‘world -class’ public schools in the state, that enable excellence. In the first
phase, there are 300 K -12 schools selected. Peepul is co -leading the Academic
Support and Monitoring Unit.  

Requirements

About the role  

The role of
the Project Manager -PMU is critical to the success of the continued
partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh towards achieving quality
education for all, and to Peepul’s strategic objective of supporting quality
improvement in the public -school system in India.  

This is
therefore an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to play a
key role in a flagship reform initiative with enormous potential impact. To
enable programme’s success, we require to rapidly roll -out and scale our
support to reach all teachers and officials in the state. 

The Project
Manager -PMU will be an excellent team player, who will independently lead and
drive design and delivery of interventions towards support and accountability
of teachers and academic officials of the state. The ideal candidate should be
able to bring together education expertise, creative problem -solving and
stakeholder management, towards the creation, implementation, and impact
tracking of high -quality initiatives towards improvement of the quality of
education.  

Key
responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

To
manage best -in -class project implementation to ensure impact  

• Manage the Project Management
  Unit (PMU) for Sandipani Vidyalaya Programme.  
  

• Lead state level efforts from
  Peepul on policy advocacy, thought leadership, and bringing synergies
  between the administration and schools for effective scheme
  implementation. 
  

• Looping in/liaison with
  state/division/district/block level officials to drive interventions at
  scale. 
  

• Work extensively to bring
  structure and codification on complex program constituents and
  material.  
  

• Create
  effective work planning systems to ensure work remains on track and
  effectively prioritized, including regular work reviews to keep the
  project on track  
  

• Potentially
  manage 1 -2 associates and provide guidance/review on their
  deliverables  
  

• Work
  with in -house M&E team and external experts to develop appropriate
  project evaluation tools  
  

• Work
  closely with Teacher Education Institutes, district, block and cluster
  officers to ensure high -quality academic mentoring. 
  

To be a
strong team collaborator, manage cross -functional relationships and engage
effectively with key government stakeholders  

• Responsible for overall
  division including designing strategies, mode of interventions, follow -up
  mechanism, mentoring fellow associates, making division specific
  data/documentation in alignment with the overall Programme objectives. 
  

• Foster
  a positive and collaborative culture of trust and high expectations in the
  team  
  

• Develop
  and maintain strong operational relationships with government partners, putting in place mechanisms to support collaboration and
  cross -organisational working  
  

• Design
  and build effective, fully aligned partnerships with other education
  non -profits and agencies, to leverage external expertise and resources
  where appropriate  
  

• Build
  capacity within government teams to ensure ongoing, sustainable
  organisational self -improvement after the formal end of the project 
  

Qualifications and Role Requirements:   

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about
driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking
for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role
requirements:  

• Educational
  Background: A relevant
  educational background in Education, Social Sciences, Consulting, Public
  Policy, or a related field. 
  

• Work
  Experience: We value both professional and personal experience.
  Candidates with 4 -6 years of experience leading and managing education -related projects,
  preferably within the public school system or education non -profits particularly
  in areas such as project
  management, monitoring units or educational interventions. Or experience
  of managing project management units for government projects. Preference
  will be given to candidates who also have direct classroom and teaching
  experience, ideally within the government school system. 
  

• Other
  Skills: Strong project
  management skills, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of
  interventions. 
  

• Language
  Proficiency: English and Hindi
