Swaniti Initiative is a non -partisan social enterprise that co -creates and delivers development solutions to governments and public representatives. It works with State Governments and Parliamentarians across the nation. Swaniti supports addressing the issues of climate change, sustainability, social protection, livelihood, and technical support to improve overall governance. We work through a three -pronged approach: provide research support on key policies and initiatives, on -ground implementation strategies for the delivery of public service, and technological intervention to improve the last mile of public service delivery.
About the role
As a Project Officer - Livelihood, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and overseeing projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of communities in the region. This position involves working closely with stakeholders, developing sustainable livelihood programs, and ensuring the effective execution of initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Carry out the diagnostic study, to understand the socio -economic conditions in mining -affected villages and analyze the impact (or deficit) of existing government schemes.
Conduct Gram Sabhas and PRA exercises in all mining -affected villages in the district in order to prepare the list of projects to be taken up under the DMF and compile this into Annual Action Plans.
Facilitate the approval of the Annual Action Plans in the Managing / Executive Committee and Governing Board of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF).
Oversee the implementation of the approved projects, through regular field visits and raise flags at appropriate levels in case of potential delays or cost overruns.
Promote community -based monitoring tools like Social Audit of projects executed under the DMF
Prepare documentation of success stories, lessons learned, and impact at periodic intervals.
Report to the Team Leader, Planning and Monitoring Unit (PMU).
Any other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience required
The candidate must possess a Postgraduate degree with a preference for those possessing a degree in rural development, the management, or social work.
At least 3 years of work experience in the development sector. Preference will be given to candidates possessing experience working directly with the district administration.
Skills and Competencies Required
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious relationships
Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, articulate issues, and recommend solutions
Proven ability to identify innovations and translate them into implementable practices
Competency in the usage of IT tools including proficiency in MS Office suite
Polished oral and writing skills in English with effective documentation skills
Ability to communicate in Hindi is desirable
