Job Description - Proposal Engineer


Job description

·         Experienced Proposal Engineer responsible for preparing commercial proposals, coordinating with cross-functional teams, obtaining vendor quotations on time, and submitting competitive bids in response to client Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

·         Skilled in cost estimation, technical documentation, and commercial pricing strategies to secure projects successfully.

·         Should have the mandatory Relevance Experience related to STP and ETP

 

1. Tender & RFP Management

·         Review and analyse Request for Proposals (RFPs), RFQs, and tender documents.

·         Understand scope of work, specifications, commercial terms, and client requirements.

·         Prepare bid/no-bid analysis and identify project risks.

·         Attend pre-bid meetings and handle client clarifications.

 

2. Vendor Coordination & Quotations

·         Identify and shortlist vendors/subcontractors.

·         Send RFQs to vendors and follow up to obtain quotations on time.

·         Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of vendor offers.

·         Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and commercial terms.

 

3. Cost Estimation & Pricing (Commercial Documents)

·         Prepare detailed cost estimation and pricing sheets.

·         Conduct rate analysis and quantity take-off (QTO).

·         Prepare commercial proposals including:

·         Price schedules

·         Cost breakdown structure

·         Payment terms

·         Taxes and duties analysis

·         Ensure competitive and profitable pricing strategy.

 

4. Bid Submission & Documentation

·         Compile complete techno-commercial bid documents.

·         Ensure timely submission of proposals as per tender deadlines.

·         Maintain proper documentation and bid records.

·         Coordinate with management for final review and approval before submission.

 

5. Project Handover & Post-Bid Support

·         Support clarification meetings after bid submission.

·         Assist project execution team during order handover.

·         Provide cost analysis and budget details for awarded projects.
