We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchase Engineer with over 5 years of expertise in procurement, vendor development, negotiation, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the SAP MM Module, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage both domestic and international sourcing. This role is critical in ensuring that procurement operations support the organization’s business objectives, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.

The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for sourcing materials, identifying reliable vendors, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project and operational requirements. Candidates with experience in new project procurement, strategic sourcing, and knowledge of manufacturing processes will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process including vendor identification, floating enquiries, evaluation, and negotiation.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of domestic and international suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective sourcing.
• Issue and manage purchase orders in line with organizational requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials as per project timelines.
• Handle import and export activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing cost efficiency.
• Support new project requirements through strategic sourcing and vendor development.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and finance teams, to align procurement activities with business needs.
• Apply costing and value engineering techniques to achieve savings while maintaining quality.
• Maintain supplier relationships, resolve disputes, and ensure performance aligns with agreed standards.
• Leverage knowledge of key processes such as forging, casting, plastic molding, rubber parts, and heat treatment to assess supplier capabilities.
• Manage procurement data, reports, and analytics through SAP MM Module to ensure efficiency and transparency.
• Participate in vendor audits, capability assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor industry trends, identify risks in the supply chain, and implement mitigation strategies.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchase engineering, or supply chain management.
• Strong expertise in vendor negotiations, vendor development, and strategic sourcing.
• Hands-on experience in managing import and export activities.
• Proficiency in SAP MM Module with the ability to generate reports, track purchase orders, and streamline processes.
• Knowledge of costing, value engineering, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as forging, casting, plastic molding, rubber parts, and heat treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Production, or related field) preferred.
