QA Manual & Automation Lead – Mobile Applications

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced QA Manual & Automation Lead to drive quality engineering for mobile applications across Android and iOS. This role combines hands-on automation development (UI and API) with QA leadership — owning test strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality, reliable releases within a CI/CD-driven Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

QA Leadership

• Lead and mentor QA engineers across manual and automation testing


• Define and implement the overall QA strategy for mobile applications


• Prepare test plans, estimates, risk assessments, and release-readiness reports


• Drive automation adoption and improve test coverage and execution efficiency


• Review test cases, automation code, and test results


• Collaborate with Product, Development, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality

Mobile UI Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile UI automation frameworks using Java, TestNG, and Appium


• Automate functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end mobile scenarios


• Implement reusable automation components using Page Object Model (POM) and framework best practices


• Execute tests on Android and iOS devices, emulators, and simulators


• Troubleshoot synchronization, locator, device, and application-specific automation issues


• Improve automation stability, reliability, and execution time

API Automation

• Design and develop API automation tests using Java and REST Assured


• Validate REST APIs for status codes, response payloads, headers, authentication, and business logic


• Integrate API automation with mobile UI automation for end-to-end validation


• Perform API regression and integration testing


• Analyze API failures and collaborate with development teams on root cause resolution

Manual Testing

• Review requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases


• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing


• Validate mobile applications across different devices, OS versions, and screen sizes


• Identify, document, and track defects through the complete defect lifecycle

Git & CI/CD

• Maintain automation source code using Git, following branching, PR, and code-review practices


• Integrate UI and API automation suites with Jenkins/CI-CD pipelines


• Support scheduled and deployment-triggered automated test execution


• Analyze CI/CD automation failures and ensure timely resolution

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Mobile Application Testing across Android & iOS


• Strong hands-on experience with Appium and Java programming


• Hands-on experience with TestNG and designing/maintaining automation frameworks


• Strong experience in API Automation using REST Assured


• Solid knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines


• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and authentication mechanisms


• Strong grasp of QA processes, SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies

Candidate Profile
An ideal candidate is a hands-on QA leader who thrives at the intersection of automation engineering and team mentorship — comfortable owning both strategic QA decisions and deep technical implementation (frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, cross-platform mobile testing). Prior experience leading a QA team in a fast-paced Agile/product environment is strongly preferred.
