Job Description - QA Tester

Duties & Responsibilities

Analyze retail business requirements and functional specifications to design and execute detailed test scenarios.

Perform smoke, functional and regression testing manually.

Develop, maintain, and execute automation test scripts using tools like Selenium, TestNG (or) Playwright.

Execute API testing for retail backend services (inventory, product catalog, order flow) using Postman or Rest Assured.

Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).

Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA members

Participate in test planning, estimation, and status reporting to key stakeholders.

Work closely with developers, business analysts, and UAT teams to ensure seamless release and high -quality deliverables.

Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and improvise existing automation framework.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

3+ years of experience in Functional and Automation Testing.

Strong experience in Functional Testing and Test Case Design (preferably retail/eCommerce applications).

Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).

Experience in API testing using Postman / Rest Assured.

Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology.

Understanding of Defect Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

(Optional) Knowledge of Performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).

Preferred Qualifications

Hands -on experience in UI Automation using Selenium WebDriver (using Java/C#).

Knowledge on SQL to execute and modify queries to fetch test data from different databases

Certification in Test automation
