Quantity Surveyor - Civil

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor – Civil for our site-based operations. The ideal candidate will have 8–15 years of relevant experience with strong expertise in pre-tender and post-tender works, bill checking, and comprehensive knowledge of civil project costing. The role demands close coordination with project, procurement, and finance teams to ensure effective cost control and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Pre-Tender Activities:

• Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings and specifications.
• Assist in cost estimation and rate analysis for civil works.
• Participate in tender evaluations and preparation of tender documents.
• Collaborate with the design and planning teams for budgeting and forecasting.

🔹 Post-Tender Activities:

• Review and verify contractors' bills/invoices as per actual work executed at site.
• Monitor project costs, variations, and control measures against approved budgets.
• Prepare and maintain project cost reports and forecasts.
• Handle contract administration and change orders/claims if any.
• Coordinate with site engineers and contractors for timely submission and certification of bills.

  General Duties:

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and commercial terms.
• Support procurement in vendor evaluation and finalization from a cost perspective.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all project costs and measurements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Additional certification in Quantity Surveying is a plus.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of civil construction processes and materials.
• Proficiency in quantity take-off, rate analysis, and BOQ preparation.
• Experience in billing, contract management, and cost control.
• Familiarity with construction software like MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and billing software
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
